Solid skater. Good defensively. Underperforming offensive player. He's a #5 dman right now but can develop to a #3

Thanks. I'm sure he's an upgrade from Hamrlik. Was hoping for one of the #1 picks back but I'm guessing Moore *was* the #1 pick. Maybe one of those deals where you get one or the other?

And I was glad to see earlier today that Tim Erixon is wearing #20. :yo:

Not happy about this. What is Gaborik gonna do that Nash didnt?? Im sure all the Brassard haters are soooo excited tho...

I did not expect this at all. Idk how many players of this caliber were/are available, but if they were willing to make a trade like this I think we coulda got a better(SAFER) player.

Have not read the whole thread, but as a Ranger fan can anyone give me a quick scouting report on this John Moore?

Smallish defenseman, speedy, inexperienced... I liked him but with the big forwards in today's game he has his work cut out.. Still a prospect with upside imo.

Maybe. Hopefully Moore and Brass do well for you guys. I know Dorse will.

Moore is 6'3" and listed about 200 pounds.

Great skater, decent with the puck on his stick, gets the puck up and out, has yet to break out as a scorer. Top 4 d-man in near future.

Let me put it this way.

What did Nash do that Gaborik can't? Not much.

What do Anisimov and Dubinsky do that Brassard and Dorsett couldn't? Alot.

Its hard to not look at these deals as a whole, and we are better team than we were 12 months ago, based on this 3 man flip. Everything else to me is speculation and a wash (Moore, Erixon, 1st round pick, etc).

Its a bold move, the fans (myself included) will dearly miss Dorsett, but its a move thats makes us a better team imo.

The real upside of this trade is that Letestu and Gaborik both wear #10. Meaning there is a chances that one of them switches to #28 and saves me the humiliation of wearing a Filatov jersey around. 61 and 52 would also be acceptable choices. At the end of the day it's all about me and my horrible jersey collection.

We'll see. I know *of* them but don't know much about them. I don't follow much of the Western Conference, at least not as much as I did in years past. I have enough to worry about following the Rangers.

I guess my Gaborik t-shirt moves to the bottom of the drawer with my Dubinsky one.

I liked Gaborik here in NY but he had worn his welcome. He gets a ton of chances every game but wasn't converting. And beware of him in the shootout....he's 5 hole all the way. But...when he dekes, it's a work of art and he scores. I hope he does well, just like I hope the 3 guys from the summer do as well.

Ranger fan here. Wish you guys the best of luck with Gaborik. He is capable of being an amazing sniper. Hopefully he finds his game in Columbus because it wasn't happening in NY under Tortorella.
Great job keeping all of your first round picks. i am sure the Rangers asked for one of them.

I'm a sentimental guy so I'm sad to see Dorse and Brass go, but I really like this trade. Gaborik can be a good bridge, still relatively young. Howis he in shootouts? :sarcasm:

This isn't a full on rebuild. We'll be in the mix next year.
Columbus didn't went to full rebuild. Continuous building would be the word I guess Jarmo used when signed. He wants to win too ;)

I didn't expect these moves at all...ballsy moves by JK/JD :yo:

WTH does Brassard have to do with this? I like Dorse, but I am fine with this deal.

If you are asking if I would rather have.....

Nash/Brass/Dorse/Moore/6th
.vs.
Gaborik/Dubi/AA/Erixon/1st

...I would say the latter. More so if we sign Gaborik to an extension.

Nash has way more talent then Gaborik. He's a better puck handler and a better passer. Gaborik does have a great shot and a real quick release. But Nash is a better player.

Just realized Jackets actually still have all their 1st rounders.. And they have gaborik too. Not bad

I think kekäläinen did this partly for income.. Doesn't gaborik bring more ticket sales, than the guys who were traded. Gabo will sell sum tickets next year / bring intrest.
