Brass with his 2nd assist tonight. Clowe with his 2nd goal. Loving this trade right now. Hope Gabby works out just as well for you guys. Moore has been very solid as well.

Don't wish Brassard any ill will. But based on his history with Hitch and Arniel, I have a hard time believing he won't eventually find a regular home in Tort's doghouse .

I like this trade, with the exception of Derek Dorsett heading the other way. Brassard is a second/third line tweener center, and John Moore - at best - is a second pairing defenseman and powerplay guy. Dorsett is a heart and soul guy that I will really miss ... but, it'll be good to see some real talent up front for the Jackets again.

Things seem to be working for the Rangers. Clowe with 2, Brass with a sweet pass for the last one. A goal and 2 assists already for Brassard? Where was this for the last 4 years?

Oh, and the trade. I like, if for no other reason than we took from positions of strength and added where we were weak. Will Gaborik work? Who knows, but it adds a scoring threat that we did not have.

Interesting questions (for me at least):

1. We have been balanced all year to where other teams cannot really concentrate on shutting down one line. Will that change now that we have a legitimate top line player? What will be the effect?

2. We pulled 4 guys out of a room that, by all accounts, was really developing chemistry and becoming a team. How will that affect the atmosphere around the team? This may be an "old Jackets" mentality, but I am slightly concerned about upsetting the fung shwe (sp) by switching so many pieces out (and in).

This is like trading a bunch of crap for 1 piece of gold.

I'll miss Moore. But I mean, this is just crazy banana pants good. I wish them all well, if the New York media or tortelololloo doesn't crack brassard ill be shocked

The new regime is not playing around. Can't wait for the draft. After the playoff run :yo:

As in any trade, you have to wait and see. But my first impressions are that I love it. A proved goal scorer in Gaborik. Dorsett was a heart and soul player but expendable due to the fact that we now have a bunch of heart and soul players. Brass never lived up to expectations as a number one center. We have centers who can slot into where Brass was here. I liked Moore but with Murray coming in next year, along with Ericson and Prout this year, we have young defensemen. So we trade from a position of depth (when have the CBJ ever done that?) to get a proven goal scorer. Oh, and by the way, we keep the three first round picks? I think it is a great trade, on the surface. The key is how these players all perform for their new teams.

Now, this does NOT insure a playoff position for the Jackets. They could very well tank the rest of the way (the road schedule is a killer). If they make the playoffs with this schedule, they will have earned it. But it also sets up the Jackets for next year as well.

To be fair, playing against Marc-Andre Fluery and the Pens defense tends to inflate players stats.

See...Flyers v. Pens playoff series last year.

Brass having a career game for the Rags..

I am amazed at the difference/ i.e. confidence I have in JD / JK. I love Gaborik, he scores going to the net and is a pure sniper. Always have loved his game & have seen plenty of Gabby with the Wild.

Move allows Umberger Dubie Foligno on the third line..sweet

He did but during the press conference, Davidson said Letestu already gaved up the number 10. He will now wear 55. As Davidson said 5 + 5 = 10 so he still has the number 10 connection. Also went onto say that these are the type of players we have in our lockerroom(I guess indicating being a team player, classy, etc).

Thanks. :)

The beauty of this trade really is the 3 1sts still in our pocket. I feel like the team is better than it was yesterday now with an elite scorer. We were buyers but it still feels like a trade that hasn't affected the future very much.

Now Moore gets a goal tonight. All we need is for Dorse to come out of the locker room like a WWE wrestler and get a Gordie Howe hat trick.

I realize it is only one game and they are probably running on adrenaline right now, just funny. Oh, and Fleury is not playing well tonight, doesn't hurt.
