Gaborik may be just past his prime but it doesn't mean he's old. Dude scored 40 goals last year. He may not reach that level here but I don't think it's out of line to expect him to be 25+ guy if not more. The track record is there.

I'll take him over Brass in the next year-plus regardless of age.

This team needs goals and that's what Gaborik does best.

AND none of the #1 picks were burned in the deal, which means they're still there to build prospect depth or still use in off season deals.

Pretty low expectations.

I was asked this on another board: Is Gaborik the first player to waive an NTC/NMC to come to Columbus?

I know Richards was willing to waive in 07-08 & the deal never happened.

Did Brass play much on the PP in Cbus? That was a hell of a setup for Richie, and its something we have sorely missed in NY this year.

And the Rangers board proclaims Brass their new lord and saviour.

Kidding. Hope he keeps it up, I just hope Gabby does better :)

That is where the majority of Brassard's points come from. With the players you have on the PP, it should help his point total out.

Good to hear. Its a refreshing change for us. Our PP has been abysmal this year.

I am a big critic of his 5 on 5 play, although it was pretty good this last month. But, as others will tell you, the kid has excellent vision.

I'm really starting to like you're squad right now, IMO Howson did a decent job rebuilding this team. Great trade.

trade loss. you guys are gona love gabby when he goes one one of his tears. it's going to remind you of nash the way he can take over games but differently, using his speed and his shot not his size. i can't describe it. it's remarkable.:handclap:

Lost in the Gaborik hype is the fact that Delisle has been involved in two of the biggest trades in CBJ franchise history. Can he go for a hat-trick next year?

I think there is a place for Boll on this team for years to come.

Agree! I think it's clearly a case of his hard work paying off. Sad to lose Dorse, but it's not like we lost all of our grit in one trade. So much more balls on this year's team compared to some previous years, IMO.

Brass with his 2nd assist tonight. Clowe with his 2nd goal. Loving this trade right now. Hope Gabby works out just as well for you guys. Moore has been very solid as well.
