This is so depressing, I don't even know what to say. I want to punch a stranger, and I don't usually have a violent bone in my body.

Moore is the wild card here kid can fly and move the puck but head needs to be clear ..Dorset is a lot like Prust ny will love him ..

Fans are going to like Brassard and Dorsett. Moore has a lot of potential.

The reality is Gaborik was awful this year. He's got one year left. Shoulder is probably still an issue. If Gaborik isn't hitting twine, he's effectively useless. And he wasn't hitting twine. So there ya go.

I'm very close to taking a hiatus from this whole organization. Glenn automatically sides with Tortorella and gives in to his demands of jam for skill. Bad feeling about this trade, but good for Gabby, I'm honestly relieved he's far,far away from this clown Torts and is now Columbus' franchise player. He's gonna be great for them.

What the ****

Everyone needs to calm down. This is not a bad trade. And not a bad return.

From the deadline GDT:

Brassard is the centerpiece. Not Dorsett. But they're all decent returns... This is not a bad trade. Should have gotten a better pick than a 6th, but its still not bad considering. Gabby wasn't fetching anything more than what we just got.

It helps our center depth; we now have a legit 3C. It gives us a very solid and very young 6th dman. And it gives us an NHL-ready, gritty RW'er (who is out for the season, granted, but will be fine next season). These are all the things people wanted. What is everyone complaining about? Its not THAT bad.

Not to mention the oldest one of them is 26!! WTF with the freaking out?

We're the worst offensive team in the league.

we traded a 40 goal scorer.

A 40 goal scorer who was struggling this year. Who is as one dimensional as they come. And who does nothing to produce offense when he isn't scoring goals. Completely reliant on the players around him. This is not the end of the world. The two forwards they got back in the trade + the upgrade in Clowe will more than make up for the lost 40 goals in terms of offensive production. And makes the team less top-heavy, gives pretty solid depth, fills in holes, and makes us much less easy to shut down in the playoffs. Give me a break with the chicken little, sky is falling crap.

All said and done, it's pretty much Gaborik and a 1st for Nash.

Stop it, please, just stop. Why the **** would fleecing a team in a deal last year cause us to have to give up a superstar for three role players this year???

This is obviously a trade to get better depth on our roster, but its horrendous. These players can be gotten in the offseason through free agency, there is no reason to trade Gaborik for this return.

We traded one of the best snipers in the NHL for a 3rd line center, a Dorsset, and Moore.

Glen. What are you doing. Glen. Stahp.

This trade is terrible. This will negatively impact our team to epic proportions. How do you trade a player on your team who is a two time 40 goal scorer WITH your team, because he is having a bad year, for Brassard, a center who never met his potential, and 3rd liners?

I'm just stunned right now...:help:

One of my favorites off the team :shakehead

It's clear Tortorella is hear to stay. God help us!

We replace Dubi with an upgraded version of him in Clowe. We replace Prust with a cheaper version in Dorsett. We deal an overpaid and underperforming player and get a really nice, young D-man back. I'm sold.

i dont think people are really familiar with moore, thats allot of the issue with reactions to the deal

Brassard, Dorsett and Moore for an underperforming UFA in a year? Sold.

pretty good deal from that perspective. I like that Dorsett will be back in time for playoffs...

This Moore kid any good? former 1st?

You say that as if he's solely responsible for creating them out of thin air. The fact that he's paid more than Marian Hossa is a travesty.

you're right, erik christensen was responsible. how dare i overlook that.

erik christensen>>>>>toews/sharp

WTF! Terrible. We trade our big time offensive player for a bunch of guys with JAM!!
Should have fired Torts and played a new system. Instead we get a bunch of guys lacking an offensive bone in their body to adjust to Torts coaching style

This is awful. We're 30th in scoring? Ok no problem trade a proven 40 goal scorer!

This is really telling though. The talent for grit trade is really showing that Torts and his ******** is here to stay.

This reminds me of the Richards and Carter trades over the summer.... Look how thats turning out for them. And they got what was considered a "sure-fire" thing in Schenn and a very good player in Voracek.

You don't need pure snipers with a lack of overall game to boot to win the Cup. Look at the past Stanley Cup champions and find me a Marian Gaborik playing a prominent role on them and I'll believe it. Dorsett and Clowe alone will have a bigger impact in playoffs than Gaborik. Heck if Clowe didn't completely tank statistically this season I'd take Clowe over Gaborik alone, forget the flash Clowe is the one going to be poking at the puck forcing it through the goalie not Gaborik, Clowe is the one going to be levelling people not Gaborik, Clowe is going to be the one engaging and winning puck battles not Gaborik, Clowe is the one going to be winning board battles not Gaborik, Clowe is the one answering the bell if **** goes down not Gaborik. Gaborik will be the guy who will snipe it between the circles top shlef, all 2 times the opportunity presents itself in playoffs.

Fans are going to like Brassard and Dorsett. Moore has a lot of potential.

Pretty much. I'm not really sure how I feel about this trade other than in the short term it's probably "good". Gaborik has been a huge problem this season and a big part of the teams lack of success, but I can't shake the feeling that he does well next season.

I dispute the "can't play under Tortorella's system" crap that I'm sure we'll see because he scored 40 goals twice under that system, he's just been bad this year.

Hopefully John Moore straightens out
