That is a big assumption. He did it just LAST YEAR. And two years before that.
Are you telling me, that you truly, genuinely believe Gaborik is done in the NHL? That he will forever be a 15-20 goal scorer and struggle putting up 35 points?
If you believe that I don't know what to say. Personally, I don't and that is why I think we got fleeced in this deal.
I wouldn't be shocked to see Gaborik start producing more THIS season with Columbus.
And again, you said "last year," last year he had shoulder surgery, give him time to recovery. True recovery time for his operation is 9 months to 1 year to recover 110%. Do you think he was really playing at 100% all season? No. If you did, you don't have a clue about the operation. I had the same exact surgery as him on my right shoulder. It's not "5 months and you can compete in the NHL at the top of your game night in and night out" operation.
When he gets back to 100%, he will be the best player in that deal, by a long shot.
