G Zach Fucale (2013, 36th, MTL)

I don't really think highly of Fucale but Rimouski outclassed Quebec in every facet of the game last night. It's tough to really call out individuals when you can't really name a player that did look good on the team.

Well seeing as how he cant play well consistently outside of big games

"Interesting" (I use the term loosely) assessment of a guy who has played over 200 QMJHL regular season games, and has a 0.898 SV% to show for it. 0.897 was 8th best this year in the Q, btw. In fact, no season even deviated by more than 0.013 from that career average, which is pretty consistent, too. What section do you normally sit in at the Metro Centre? Maybe we've met.

and is talked about as a playoff wizard then yes, people are expecting him to show up.

He did. Did you watch the game? That save robbing the open net, etc, etc? Have you missed most of the playoffs?

Let's run through the goals last night real quick:

1) Probably pushed off a little too far and got a bit out of position on goal. Entire play set-up by Quebec just sitting back and getting themselves hemmed into their zone for about a minute.

2) Erne without a stick at the point, pushes his man but doesn't do anything, shot from the high slot and Fucale is double-screened by Clapperton and his own teammate Etchegary. Doesn't see the shot at all.

3) Powerplay after Murphy takes a dumb penalty, weak shot from Gauthier hits Maheux in the skate, slides over to Clapperton who's all alone with a wide open net.

4) Another dumb penalty, Duclair this time, another double-screen, he is able to look past Gauthier in front of his net, but can't see past Graves who goes to block the shot, Loiseau makes a nice shot just inside the far post.

Not to mention the highlight reel saves, especially that open net one in the first. He's the reason it wasn't 6-0 after the first. Terrible effort by Quebec and no discipline. There should never be a time where you kill 6 penalties just past the halfway point of the game.

So where are the haters tonight?

Oh that's right, they only show up if he loses. Well on Friday he will be playing his 3rd game in 3 nights behind a tired team against a well rested Kelowna team. So you should get your wish for him to lose and then you can say he is no good again.

I'll tell you any day of the week that Fucale just isn't very good. Win or loss, rain or shine.

Yeah...he is horrible.

"Fucale finished the season, if you include regular season, playoffs, Memorial Cup and Ivan Hlinka U18 tournament, with an unbelievable record of 68-10-3, a gold medal, a President’s Cup and a Memorial Cup."

Then wins Gold at WJC.

Most wins ever by a QMJHL goalie for career.

Horrible

Did you not notice that everything you listed was a team accomplishment?

If he was a bad goalie I don't think all those coaches and GMs would have chosen him to be their starter

Where did you read bad goalie in my post? I've read it 3 times now and can't find. It's not a big post so I don't know where it could possibly be hiding.

Im talking about in-season, not a season by season comparison. I watch the games using hockeystreams.com like most others...
