G Thatcher Demko (2014, 36th, VAN)

Remember this everybody, the game where people were like wow and opened their eyes.:eek::eek:

And that was before the hip surgery

Current record is Jimmy Howard's .956. It's one hell of a record to break, but Demko has a chance if he manages to avoid a cold streak of games.

Jimmy Howard did that in only 22 games, very hard to match that if Demko is playing 35 games this season.

Yep. Hellebuyck is 2nd on the list, with a .953 playing 24 games.

Comparable to Demko if he plays a lot of games would be Ryan Miller's .950 playing 40 games in 00/01.

THAT'S CALLED GIVING UP ON HIM

:help::help::help:
Not in my eyes, giving up on him would be outright releasing him or trading him for a conditional late pick. Or is giving up on someone in your eyes trading them with no mention of the return? Like the Oilers didn't give up on Gretzky? Its not like Rask was a throw-in like how we gave up on Biggs and Finn.

Fun fact: The last goaltender to win the Hobey Baker was..... Ryan Miller.

Demko has a long way to go but maybe he has a shot this season.

He's tracking very well. Off to a great start. Ideal plan for the Canucks would be to sign him after his Junior year is complete, then he will play 50 plus games in the 16-17 season in Utica.

I'm in favor of letting young goalies develop in the AHL, so even with Miller's contract expiring at the end of the 16-17 season, still better to keep Demko in the AHL in 17-18.

Of course his play in the pros will dictate what they think. Plus the play of Markstrom over the remainder of this season.

Thatcher Demko

Just looking at his numbers which look out of this world for Boston College.

13-2-1

.941 S%

6 shutouts

Can anyone tell me how much is it Demko's play or does it have a lot to do with that Boston College team being a power house?

It's been a combination, but a massive part of his success has been his work ethic and overall talent, this guy has lit it up every single year growing up through the ranks, and he just got surgery done and looks much quicker, and stronger.

he is the full package, imo best goalie prospect in the NHL.
