G Thatcher Demko (2014, 36th, VAN)

bad news.

he's starting to pick things up.

During his last seven starts -#Canucks prospect Thatcher Demko is 6-1-0 with a 1.86 GAA and 0.935 SV%

Good to hear. I've liked his game the most from what I've seen out of the big college goalies that have come through lately (i.e. Hellebuyck and Gillies). Really impressed me in the rookie camp this year as well despite playing behind a pretty poor Canucks rookie team.

Excellent news. He had a pretty rough start to the season and i even remarked that his next few games would be critical. And he responded very POSITIVE from what it looks like :)

Slight uptick but still on the road to bustville.
How can you be on the "road to bustville" when you've already pretty much busted??

Personally, I'd cut ties with him ASAP. Goalies typically peak in their teens/early-20s and then it's all downhill from there. Demko will be no different. Stick a fork in him; he's done.

This is exactly the same way Cory Schneider started his pro career.

Both Schneider and Demko played 3 years of college but Schneider's AHL rookie year was in his draft +4 year while Demko's AHL rookie year is his draft +3 year.

You could easily argue Demko is on track to be better. He probably won't but it is interesting to look at.

Schnieder was awful in the first half of his AHL career and then became adjusted.

I'm more impressed with Demko because it only took him 6 games to adjust to the AHL and is a year younger than Schnieder when he turned pro.

Still 0.911 for the season and 28th best goalie in AHL. There are 7 better rookie goalies in AHL this season.
