No it's not "easily" said. Saros, Sorokin, Shestyorkin, and Samsonov all have cases for number 1
 
Transitioning to the AHL at such a young age for a goalie into a starting role is not easy. Ask Alex Nedeljkovic or MacKenzie Blackwood how that transition is going...it's not going well to say the least. Demko is currently on a 6-game Quality Start streak. That doesn't happen very often at any level. Even with the generally bad start Demko has had he's worked himself in the Top 25 for AHL goalies out of about 88 goalies to have seen action this season.

If Demko can have a rookie season in between what Juuse Saros and Spencer Martin did last season than the transition will have been a success (GSAA between ~10 and ~5). Demko is currently sitting on a 2.271 GSAA. I'd also like to see at minimum a 0.57 Quality Starts % from Demko by the time the regular season ends as that is what a 20yo Spencer Martin did (after coming off an ACL injury).

BTW a guy who was playing in Chezk2 a year ago is currently the leading keeper in AHL. 91% keeper in Chezk1 last year...

Now 95% in AHL.

Yeah because 8 games is a realistic sample size.

If you're going to go with outlandish theories, then I guess Shestyorkin sucks because he's posting the same stats in the KHL as Igor Bobkov who had an .852sv% in his last AHL season.

Anyway, your b*st goalie prospect in the world sure looks like about 15th best goalie prospect in his league.

But lets wait a full season before slapping the best hammer.

Meanwhile lemme check the Chezk league for tall keepers... That was about 5th best keeper in the league last year.

Canucks related prospects are barred from any positive statements or any reinforcements of hope and positivey. Absolutely not allowed. Only negatives.

Bob Mckenzie was right when he slammed the members of Hboards.com.

Ridiculous. Binghamton and Rockford are definitely worse, Abbott can't even produce on that Rockford team.

Also Bakersfield is horrible, they have no depth at all

no.... Prior to December, the Utica Comets were the worst team, as stated by plenty of experts on hfboards.com, and in terms of standings. now you guys are retracting that comment? He is the sole reason of their turn around. So I guess the double standardness continues on hfboards.com.
 
When demko turns into schneider 2.0, some of these comments in this thread are gonna be hilarious to look back in the future.

He is literally trending exactly like he did.

Both had **** teams, but struggled early in the AHL, both turned it on and carried their awful teams.

Miller is hurt so he's just been called up to back up Markstrom tomorrow.



Doubt he'll play but he's earned the call up with his excellent play lately.

Actually the team Cory Schneider played on as a Rookie in his AHL rookie season was quite stacked. They made it to the finals of course with a strong team, and he had to be stellar in order to make it all the way to game 6 of the AHL finals.

I would guess that Garteig was going to start the AHL game tomorrow anyway and Demko was going to back him up since Demko played 5 in a row. I don't see a problem with this call up...

I honestly see no bad comments that people should be ashamed of in this thread. Most of them seen to be in good fun and sarcastic trying to **** off some over senstive Canuck fans. The other posts I see seem to be trying to point out that Demko is not the consensus best goalie prospect that some Canuck fans are trying to proclaim he is.
