Most Swedish goalie Are bad. King Henrik bacame something of course teams not going to take a Swedish keeper when the last good one was Henrik. So They slip taking a swe keeper in first rounder is a gamble. Markström only recent become something and thats not with his draft team . Walls seem good so hoppfully . Sweden dont have alot elit keepers
does lehner not exist?

Also while I do like Wallsteadt, lets not act like Cossa is irrelevant because of the world juniors. he'll be fine, hopefully. Knowing yzerman he will have his magnum opus on the wings

Ok, not great against the Swiss team. With that Swedish offence he need to let in no goal, or one goal at the most.

I'm mostly confused on how he's moving
I remember at my goalie camps we would have chair skating drills. We'd have to sit down in the chairs and maneuver like he did there. Like krown said, you have to use c-cuts and really dig into your edges. It's harder than he makes it look, especially the control. I remember watching my fellow goalies (and myself) try to go around cones and just plow through like drunken sailors.... Worth a try sometime, although much easier with goalie skates :thumbu:

Well deserved medal for Wallstedt, closed it down after a couple of weird ones snuck past him in the early games and looked in complete control through the elimination games. Hope someone can track down a gif of the clear he had on the PK against the Czechs, don't think I have seen a goalie do that before, one handed from his knees, and still gets enough leverage to air-mail the zone.

Such an obvious pick for the Senators to go for at #10. I’m jealous.

Obvious pick was Sillinger.

I didn't like the idea of using a top 10 pick on a goalie, but if I knew we would waste the pick on a grinder like Boucher I would have been thrilled to get Wallstedt at 10.
