They already know Samsonov is not the answer, so why waste a year? He's the backup as long as Samsonov is healthy

So few of these cases make it through the arbitration system, so it would be good to be able to learn some new stuff on rulings and that might actually increase future cases.

identification of any comparable(s) relied on." So hopefully we get the longhand version.
No one wants to work on the weekend, Arbitrators are no different. That guy in Chicago had his hearing on Thursday and there's still no announcement. Wonder if we have to wait till after the weekend to find out what the decision is.

They have so many unanswered question and if by some miracle they fix the D and find a few forwards after JM is off the books, they don’t need to be developing Woll.
I get the feeling Treliving isn't a fan of Samsonov too.My feeling is Samsonov is not the answer.
Precisely why you need to find out now rather than later. When a new GM comes in, I'm sure a lot of things that were seen as solutions will be re-evaluated, and with the amount of things no nailed down, you probably just want to buy some time and assess options.
My feeling is Samsonov is not the answer. And I'm not sure about Woll. Woll's the latecomer with a lot of hype and hope but he's been a slow developer with a very short track record. He has a lot of the positive traits like calmness and maturity and quiet technique that are shortcomings in Samsonov's game, but who knows how that works out over 82 games, and then on repeat.

What leads you to think this is a Treliving feeling?I get the feeling Treliving isn't a fan of Samsonov too.
Ok isn’t it due now? I thought it was do at 9am

Why did you think that?
Just curious if there is something stating that, or just a feeling you had?
YOu would be correct.I thought I read it was 48 hrs from the start of the hearing?

Never that i recallThe arbitrators award report should include that info. However I'm not aware of these reports ever becoming public.
Source? If this is true, Leafs should trade Samsonov, trade for Logan Thompson and go cheap in net with a Thompson/Woll tandem. Both goalies make less than league minimum.

It's not possible to make less than the league minimum.

His AAV is below the minimum because the minimum was less last year. His actual dollars due this year are at the minimum. (750+775+775)/3 =766 AAVTo be fair. The 2023-24 minimum is 775k.
Woll is listed as 766k. So the poster is just reporting his actual contract. I am assuming he gets a 9k raise
Yes it is. Your contract is league minimum when signed. If league minimum goes up that applies to all future contracts not ones signed in the past. You could be making 750k and the minimum is 775k now. I mean in theory you could now sign a contact of 8 years with 775k aav and by end of it be making 100k or more under league minimum. It's not possible to make less than the league minimum.

Samsonov’s 2022-23 season going into arbitration is significantly better than Georgiev’s 2021-22 season when he signed that $3.4m deal. Georgiev’s outstanding 2022-23 stats are not admissible in salary arbitration to compare him to Samsonov. A salary arbitration comparison between only Samsonov and Georgiev says Samsonov should be awarded a good amount more than $3.4m.
