I'm confused, I've been rereading the guys post over and over. All he said was Wolf had a bad 2 games, he didn't say that his career was defined by them. He even said "its only 2 games"
It's a problem not just with hfboards prospects but in the modern internet. You can't have a dissenting opinion. I literally was stating my opinion from watching him over 2 games and never once closed the door on him. Most of the people chirping 2 games 2 games 2 games, have never been in a scout meeting. I realize it's 2 games, I'm simply stating what I saw in those 2 games and again, as this poster I am replying to pointed out, I never closed the door on Wolf.
I just stated the facts after actually watching the games, not stat watching, not twitter highlight farming, I've endured the Wranglers terrible announcer during a number of these broadcasts for 6 total viewings this year (granted I was watching other players for example in the Moose series, I was watching to keep an eye on Lambert), unlike 90% of the people who comment here they've probably never even heard her lol. It's why this prospect board has gone downhill over the last few years it's just echochambers and tummy sticks, and GeorgeLeafer want-to-be's.
Wolf's been playing well, I like a lot in his game, (saw him in the Moose series and shut out San Diego) but I stand by my assessment, he still has holes in his game that are cause for concern at the higher level that he needs to work on. And my positional analysis on my substack showcases these issues.
The other factor few take into account is level of competition, and how the ahl schedule works with series. The west coast teams in the Pacific division SUCK this year, for example in the shutout performance Wolf didn't have to do much, still a good performance and he looked sharp, granted the best shooter that had a shot was Danny O'Regan, I think it's safe to say in the nhl he'll get a few better shooters taking shots on him.
Here's the big one though,
I don't think the Wranglers have played 1 top 10 scoring team all year. (EDIT before any of these sycophants can correct me) looking at it now Coachella is tied for 10th.
TLDR for the people who will pin point one word and argue one point, he's playing well though not as tested as I'd like to see, and has some very likeable and translatable skills for the nhl level, but his game still has holes and things he really needs to address or figure out workarounds for given some limitations.
