Maybe they can be in Arizona next year and have more empty seats to play in front of. Watching highlights of the skills competition and seeing rows of empty seats is pretty embarrassing.

When a Million dollars got handed out as min wage ( almost I know )

There’s nothing soft about the drive needed to be among the best in the world at one’s craft, no matter the field. This is something that unskilled workers/workers who only need a pulse to clock in don’t understand due to ignorance and perhaps resentment due to unrealized dreams.

Exactly. The only time they spend outside is walking from a vehicle into a restaurant, hotel, arena or airport. Probably a combined 30 minutes for the entire trip. Bunch of babies

As opposed to being outside the entire time, basking in 80 degree sunshine with women walking around in bikinis.

It’s like people are willfully ignoring the obvious here. Next week I’m going to an annual work session that changes location every year. This year it’s in San Antonio. I’m on the site selection committee. They turned down Memphis because it’s too far north and the attendees didn’t want to be in the cold.

Guess what, people want their work trips to be nice, not “just grit your teeth and get through it, you baby”.

when did nhlers get so soft.
Probably when they realized that they generate billions of dollars for these owners and are an elite talent pool that makes the actual product people pay to see. They stopped believing the ridiculous notion that it's a privilege to play for these billionaires and should be happy to play for a team jacket. Hockey is a tough sport but these guys are still ultimately the show ponies.

IF this is even true it's not like they're asking for rose petals sprinkled before them as they walk into the locker room. They're saying "if I gotta work when 90% of the league gets a break, can we make it somewhere nice to vacation?"

The horror.

Shh. You're supposed to suffer and like it and not try and make your life better or you'll be called soft.

because work sessions and a game originating in climates below freezing temperatures are the same thing

so the players know they're the show ponies, know they generate revenue for the owners and league, but are only willing to do it certain places? lol

oh no, they may need to go somewhere where's there snow and ice on the ground, they've never seen that as hockey players I'm sure

the horror

What is this statement even trying to say? Seriously, what is your argument.

The only "logic" I can see from people upset by this is "boo hoo soft babies".

What's wild is that most of them come from places where they endure absurd winters. While the opposite can be said about the NBA, and they're more than OK with going to Utah.

Maybe it's more about how the NHL does things. They legitimately don't know how to do anything right.

Yes, that was exactly my point. They know they're the stars. So if they're getting honored for being an All-Star, why not try to make it an enjoyable break for them as well?

I just find it rather ironic that players play a game on ice and snow, don't want to go to climates with ice and snow

You know they play indoors right? They play in climates with ice and snow for much of the season. This is their mid-season break.

Turn the ASG into an international recruitment exercise for the NHL and set it rotating across the globe to travel hotspots and tourists draws.

It's fine for the players to think that.

It's less fine for them to make those thoughts public.

It's ridiculous for the NHL to entertain this.
