GDT: Free Agent Frenzy

Chytil and Zib are both forechecking monsters and so is breakdancing. We don’t have a bunch of floating snipers on the team. We have scores who go out there and get the puck. I’m more worried if a lazy player like Strome is still our 2C
 
@Edge already said that there was an offer from the Rangers. I know some may find it hard to believe but sometimes players simply want to move on even from us . I was a huge Fast fan but it is what it is. I’m still excited for our future

He wanted a more offensive role so he left the Rangers, coming off playing with Panarin, for the Hurricanes, who shut it down so much they won with a zamboni driver. Got it.

of course. and your 4th line is gonna be? Also when a top 9 winger gets sidelined which will happen who's moving up?
Again if Fast didn't wanna be here it's obviously all a moot point.
 
The guys that haven't signed will start to get antsy here. Lots of talk that there will be guys looking for jobs, not necessarily looking for their payday. For some of these guys the price difference between option a and option b may not justify signing option a vs waiting out option b. I'm thrilled management has waited out the market and hasn't been sucked into big spending...

We, or Fast?
Because what I was saying originally is that if Fast sees those names and understands that the team's intent is to start integrating the younger guys into important positions, not to mention also having Gauthier and Lemeiux needing ice time, then he might assume (suppose to be the case without yet having factual evidence) that his ice-time and role will be lessened, so he's decided to go elsewhere.

Panarin and Laf
Kakko and Kravstov (?)
Lemieux and Gauthier

If we roll with these pairs of wingers or some combination of the eight, I think we'll be ok

I'd still feel more comfortable with one more proven winger who can play with some grit but maybe they have Barron earmarked for a spot

Players electing arbitration is a good thing. They will be here next year unless we trade them. No offer sheets to worry about. Most if not all will be settled with a last minute contract agreement before going in front of the arbitrator.

Hoping while being realistic Stome 4.25-4.5 ADA 5-5.25 Georgiev 1.75-2 Lemieux 1.5-2

Barron is 100% making the team. You can bookmark this if you want lol.

Ok so we've got Lafreniere and Kakko and if we're gonna sit around and wait for them to take the reigns and stockpile picks and prospects in the meantime, that's cool and all, but then why did we sign Panarin? Why did we sign Trouba? Why did we not trade Fast? Why did we keep Kreider? Why did we get rid of Staal and Hank when they were expiring in a year anyway?

Those moves clearly signaled our intent to compete soon and I haven't seen a single move yet to make this team better now.

Maybe something is on the horizon, but I don't feel we're particularly committed to any plan here.

Have to believe fast was told he would have a top 9 role in car and possibly was worried about being pushed down the depth chart here. Or maybe he just wants to move on from living in the NYC area. Not everyone loves that lifestyle.
