Sure lets grab a scrub at 1.5 million to play his spot and save 500 k. awesome. Or rush a kid to try to do what Fast can do.

I think it's a lot more likely he wanted Matt Martin to get 3M a year and this was the only way to do it.

Maybe he was looking for a slower pace. It might just be a living situation? I’m not gonna speculate. If you leave any major city people are in another gear. I left Nyc for the Poconos and you have to adjust how much slower people are. I don’t have any regrets but most places around here open up at 10am and close at 11pm.

also you can buy 200,000 house here that would be a 3million in the tri-state.

He was not a puck hound. The dude was below average offensive and slightly above average defensively.

We're going to play the kids. That's all I can think of at this point. This leave a top 6 hole from last seasons lineup. Gauthier pretty much has a spot on this team locked up. Barron is going to get a spot.

Also means Buch is going nowhere unless a winger is coming in. Kravtsov is going to come over for camp.

We all talked about how we don't have spots for them, well, here they are. I'd have brought Fast back for that, but eventually we have to let these young guys get ice time and it's now.

They probably kept PDG since he can PK and is cheaper/easier to move on from. Can't have competition if Fast is locked in and Buch/Kakko have spots locked in right now.

For better or worse, the youngsters are going to have spots there to take.
 
Evidently JD wasn’t kidding when he said to be patient, we’re gonna be icing a bottom 6 and left side that are AHL level

Why is the automatic assumption the Rangers offered less than 2M/yr? Since when have they ever lowballed people they'd like to keep? Like the idea someone could prefer another destination or whatever is so beyond the pale that it MUST be the front office messing things up.
