Paul Bissonette or Paul Miss-the-net?
I made a joke about this immediately post lottery. Of course the Rangers finally gain access to a likely superstar player in the draft during a global pandemic. There’s a non zero chance that we’re still a year (or more) away from hockey being played.
Makes very little sense to offer more in a trade than it would cost to send an offer sheet unless you somehow know you can get him signed for far cheaper.
Team can elect 1 or 2 years when player files. Not Strome, as he’s 1 year from UFA, so award has to be 1 year. Are all arbitration awards one year only?
Rico Fata was super fast but he didn't have all that much mobility for his speed. Athanasiou is a much better skater than Fata because he does but generally he always seemed to save his best games for the Rangers--why I don't know. He's a one trick pony pretty much. His overall game leaves a bit to be desired.
I don’t think that’s a thing, no. No offer sheets, though.I forget does filing for arbitration mean you can’t be traded until it’s settled?
Would Lias be on the table from LA in a potential ADA deal?
Alright here’s your update:
Rangers made an offer for Wennberg. Wasn’t higher than Florida’s.
Suspect a similar deal is on the table for Granlund.
ADA obviously unlikely to go to Calgary now, but a deal with them isn’t dead.
Keep an eye on LA and St. Louis when it comes to ADA discussions.
No interest in Johnson at this time.
Monitoring Sergachev
A player can be traded before or after arbitration, AFAIK.I forget does filing for arbitration mean you can’t be traded until it’s settled?
Are you a little surprised not to see them target someone like Clifford?
With Calgary, I’m guessing Hanifan? With Buch going the other way possibly and Granlund as a back up RW.
LOL Fata's hockey IQ was low. And that was in both the trap era and post lockout.
Wonder what kind of haul it would take to land Sergachev

Start with a first, Lundkvist, Kravstov, Buch, and probably something else (Baron perhaps?).
I like Sergachev but he is a little overrated on the HFs. He's in a good position playing behind Hedman and at times McD and even Cernak. When he's dumb, he's really dumb.
