This opens up some interesting possibilities. I like Schmidt a lot as a possible trade candidate. They won’t be able to demand a lot because he has significant contract term left. I can live with Martinez especially since he is on an expiring contract and he could always be flipped at the trade deadline. Def8nitely worth watching.View attachment 371894

Hearing Sam and Joe talk about his 2014 Goal every 10 minutes is going to be more unbearable than seeing that Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonnette Vodka commercial 7x every playoff game.

Schmidt has 4 years left at roughly 6m AAV. Is he a top 4 or top 2? I think he would be dangerous to bring in unless we move DeAngelo. He's got less offense than ADA so he would need to bring a better all around game. He's not a height upgrade over ADA really.

I think the NHL can get away with partially filling arenas but if they want the arenas to be full they may as well just cancel the season now

Depends where you are. Florida is allowing fans in the arenas and Stadiums. With our governor and mayor, won’t see Rangers hockey in person till 2023....... unless you fly to another state to see them on the road.

To play on the left side, correct?

I’d think the ideal plan is tiered. For example, 20% for Jan across the board and go from there. Certain areas increasing based on their situation locally with the virus.

Distanced seating. Wear a mask when walking within the arena. Take temps when entering the arena. Simple stuff.

My big question is air filtration/ventilation within arenas. How much does that need to change to mitigate risk?

Vancouver have really crapped the bed. Lost Tanev & Stecher because they thought they were getting Ekman-Larsson, now they lost their backup plan in Barrie. Funniest part is they all of those players to division rivals. Now they're going to try to sign Pietrangelo but looks like he's going to yet another division rival lmao. Even if they do sign him then they probably can't afford one of Hughes/Pettersson. Brutal
They're going to trade Miller for DeAngelo

Once the Pietrangelo situation is resolved, I expect the trade market to start heating up

that certainly fits with what we’ve been told.

Wonder if ADA is still being actively shopped for a center or ld

True. It was likely to go that route. But this has apparently been formally agreed upon in a silent type of truce. Both owners and players want money. No revenue - nothing to split. Not rocket science. But this is why the restart date was moved ahead to January 1st. And it will likely move further ahead if this thing does bot subside. My wife, btw seems to have gotten this dastardly thing. We will see her results tomorrow. She is not well at all. I had something for a few weeks along with her, but am better now, but she is getting steadily worse. Ambulance was here today. 2020 is not a good year

It makes sense that the NHL won't start until they can have fans in the arenas; when that will be; who knows as I don't think January 1 is realistic for a startup. It's what I've though all along. They do not want to have to have another bubble scenario. It wouldn't surprise me to see the NBA do the same, though they have more TV money to fall back on.

I hope your wife has a full and quick recovery! This has taken a toll on so many people.

My initial reaction to the Tyson Barrie deal is he is the first FA in a consensus top 50 to sign with the oilers.

So the biggest FA's are still just sitting with their thumbs up their butts and we gotta get excited about Barrie 1 year deal with EDM. Worst FA frenzy ever.
