Killorn and Coburn has both a 16-team no-trade list. And while Killorn is pretty expensive Coburn wont save them much if traded. TBL went all in for the Cup, time to pay the price now,

As unlikely as it seems I think trading Stamkos might actually be the correct move for Tampa Bay. See if you can't attach a pick to lose Gourde or Johnson.

It would take a 1st or more. There's a lot of term left.

Staal took a 2nd with 1 year left. What does 4 or 5 years left cost?

Im guessing the waivers were just a last ditch effort to avoid more painful solutions for Tampa. Things are going to get interesting!

I am very worried now. I just heard from a great source that the league has clearly indicated it will not restart if there are no fans in the stands. NHLPA seems to agree with this as well. This is not good news. At all. But logical

TB has to sign
Sergachev $5M+
Cirelli $4-5M
Cernak $3-4M

Say $13M. They have around 3M in space... they will need to replace whoever they ship out.

It's a mess for them but at least the won the cup before it happened. Vasilevskiy is a great goalie but I'm weary of spending nearly 12% of cap on a goalie.

None of those players are arbitration eligible, so the only leverage they have is a potential offer sheet. Neither ADA nor Lemieux had arbitration rights last year, and we know how that turned out. Granted, Tampa's players are more likely to receive an offer sheet, but Tampa might be able to sign them for less on a 1 year deal.

I think we'll probably see a Fleury buyout if they get Pietrangelo. Doesn't get them all the way there, but it's a significant step in that direction.
If I am reading the rules right, this is an impossibility. Vegas has no arbitration cases so they won’t be able to participate in the second buyout window. They signed their only arb eligible player yesterday.

I think that makes sense, but I can also see the NHL doing everything it can to have some fans in the buildings. Maybe some buildings have to update their ventilation systems, and they'll probably operate with limited capacity and social distancing, but they'll figure out a way to make it work.

What percentage of revenue comes from TV deals vs. arena generated revenue?

I just assumed that the above was a given.

Panarin Cirelli Kakko
Lafreniere Zibs Buch
Kreider Chytil Howden
Lemieux Barron Gauthier

I can dig it

The challenge with a flat cap is that it will expose over investments imo. You don't have that wiggle room to get out of it the following year. The Rangers are in a great spot here with the space that they have available.

It'll be interesting to see how things unfold.

True. It was likely to go that route. But this has apparently been formally agreed upon in a silent type of truce. Both owners and players want money. No revenue - nothing to split. Not rocket science. But this is why the restart date was moved ahead to January 1st. And it will likely move further ahead if this thing does bot subside. My wife, btw seems to have gotten this dastardly thing. We will see her results tomorrow. She is not well at all. I had something for a few weeks along with her, but am better now, but she is getting steadily worse. Ambulance was here today. 2020 is not a good year

Sorry to hear that. Hope she recovers quickly. It got me pretty bad but fortunately I didn't need a hospital visit. Took me a good month to recover though...really wiped me out.
