Value of: Pageau at this trade deadline

I think his value is very solidly a 2nd, but there's no shot he's traded by the deadline especially with his extra year giving Lou flexibility to take his time. The only way he's moved is if Nelson and Palmieri are moved before him, and at that point idk if Lou is willing to move 2 centers. If someone offers a pick from 28-32 Lou absolutely has to take it but I'm not sure other teams are willing to give that price.

Lou will probably do Lou and not trade Nelson or Palmieri. Nelson is a center and if he were to trade him, I don’t see him trading a second center (Pageau) at the TDL. In the offseason could he do it while making other moves to fill holes in the lineup? Possibly.

Man why Lou isn't already gone?? You guys need to rebuild. Now is a great time with McKenna coming in 2026 and Dupont in 2027.

Would love Pageau on the Leafs. I would certainly rather him than Gourde (who has been rumored). Pageau has a limited NTC (16 teams I believe) and would need to waive. Leafs would also need to add a 3rd team to help retain. Long story short, I don't think I will get to see Pageau playing on the Leafs PK.

Not interested in moving him unless a team overpays. Losing him and Nelson kills us down the middle. Pageau does so much, you lose a lot of intangibles with him.

It's beyond inconceivable if Lou holds on to anyone who is over 30 if he can get a pick or a prospect for them
What? What is the point? The season is over and this run the Islanders have is over, you think this team has any chance of doing anything next year? Everyone who is over 30 has to go

There is also next year which Pageau is signed on for. He does a lot.
The second you trade him is the second you have to replace him.

He'll also be 1 year older and will get less of a return, and the reality is the worse the team is at this point the better in the long run as it will mean a higher pick

Don’t want Veleno or the extra year next year but if this was the only offer out there I’d take it.
I’d prefer just the picks honestly unless you’re doing it for cap purposes

I’d be shocked if a team gives up a first for Pageau. His offense had falling off a cliff. He’s great at faceoffs, playing defensively, and killing penalties but to get a first you usually have to have good enough offensive numbers with that type of bottom 6 player. Only having another year left on his deal isn’t enough to justify the first either.
Crazier things have happened but I think it’s unlikely. I’d love it though lol

Do not underestimate a strong 3C - especially RH C - in the playoffs and one with a playoff pedigree like Pageau.
