Yes. Most of us view Pesce as almost untouchable as Slavin. He is not someone we would do a quality for quantity trade with.

I just think that there is too much smoke around the leafs and canes for almost a year. Seems like it is pretty clear that the canes want johnsson/kapanen and leafs want pesce/hamilton.

Your offer is three nickels for a quarter. Quantity for quality is never appealing, much less when the quantity doesn't even add up. Johnsson is worth a late 1st, Bracco is worth a mid round pick, and Ceci was just traded for a Cap dump. Those aren't appealing pieces whatsoever.

We wouldn't mind AJ/KK, but neither gets close to Pesce/Hamilton. Especially after we just traded CDH, we can't trade away any more top 4 d-men right now unless we have a plan in place to replace them.

Problem is that the Canes traded de Hann and Faulk is a ufa in a year, and Hamilton is a ufa the year after that. Pesce’s contract is perfect for Carolina.

Johnsson is probably a 20-25 goal scorer in the league. Bracco is an elite prospect (look at his stats this past season). Ceci is someone who can play in top 4 and save you millions of dollars for your owner and get rid of if you don't like (like we are possibly doing).

Bracco is someone who would probably be in our top 9 if we didnt have marner/nylander/kapanen. He is could become marner-lite. Leaf fans have a very high opinion of him.

But I get it! Pesce is great so I understand if you don't think that is enough. Was just curious on your fans thoughts.

The Canes traded de Haan, killing the depth needed to even think about trading Pesce/Hamilton. The Canes got Haula last week to be the Middle 6 guy they were looking for. The Leafs just made a major F for RHD trade yesterday.

A Carolina-Toronto, D for F trade is not happening. The window has closed. It's time to move on.

If Toronto wants Hamilton or Pesce they can trade a similar impact player back in Nylander. Otherwise the Canes aren't interested in downgrading their roster talent.

No reason to trade one of the top 4 D without a similar caliber player coming back. That likely means Nylander, which is where these conversations typically end.

Carolina's forward core is almost complete, with the only question being whether Williams returns or retires. If he retires, chances are the remaining slot is a training camp battle between quite a few Checkers the Canes would rather give a chance than Bracco.

Honestly, at least as far as I'm concerned, I'm just tired of fans of Canadian teams coming in and making crappy offers for our stars. WE ARE NOT YOUR FARM TEAM. I just need a break from anything with a Maple Leaf for a few weeks.

BTW, Pesce is better than Barrie and on a better contract. So look at what you just gave up for Barrie and improve on that for Pesce.

Nah, if we hadn't made the cdh trade with Chicago is say we'd be looking at possibilities. But as it stands at least for one more season

I imagine if Kadri hadn't had Carolina on his no-trade list then Toronto might have dealt for Kadri for Faulk@50% rather than making the same deal for Barrie.
