Canes need impact forwards which is why they've been linked to Duchene. They can make a huge move if they really wanted too

With Marleau going to the Leafs, any chance of making a run at Jumbo Joe on the cheap? Maybe a 1-2 year deal for $3-4 million per? Klein would definitely have to retire but:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Zuccarello
Nash-Thornton-Buchnevich
Vesey-Hayes-Miller
Grabner-Andersson/Nieves-Fast

McDonagh-Shattenkirk
Skjei-Smith
Staal-Bereglazov/Pionk

Lundqvist
Pavelec

If we could get Thornton @ 3.5 AAV for 2 seasons, I'm all over it. He'd be an absolute PERFECT stopgap for us...and we can afford that 3.5. Gorts should give him a ring and ask him if he'd like to play with Nash again. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if he already has. It's what we need.

Kuznetsov about to ink 8 year, $7.8m. Wow, the new hawks down in DC. They can't keep it up.

Edit: $4.5 million left in cap with 15 signed. Half joking but Backstrom? I would trade almost anyone... Or straight up anyone.

Their defense is so bad. With barely any cap room I don't see how they are improving it.

Sam Bennett?

The Flames need a RW. Troy Brouwer and Michael Frolik are the their top two RW's.

Mats Zuccarello.

Bennett is a group II without arbitration rights.

Calgary traded all of their picks for Hamonic and they are in another epic battle of Alberta steel cage match with the Oilers.

Zuccarello helps them try to win right away. They really need that top 6 forward. Bennett is their 3rd line center behind Monahan and Backlund.

Bennett is young(21). The Rangers want to "rebuild on the fly" and remain competitive. Bennett will cost $2M-$2.5M in a two year bridge contract. The Rangers free up cap space for the next two seasons. Zuccarello has two years remaining. Bennett gives the Rangers another young center option.

The Rangers would need more in the deal. Rasmus Andersson? I read everyone crying about the Rangers passing up on Andersson to select Gropp. Adam Fox?

Or we can just keep Zuccarello and not rob Peter to pay Paul again.

(Moving Step to fit Shatty, which I'm ok with but we still filled one hole and opened another)

I realize this is your thing tho

Sorry I'm posting so much, but it finally picked up today.

Washington centers: Backstrom, Kuznetsov, burakovsky (rfa), Lars Eller, Beagle. Couple of possibilities there.

It's early but Vegas has shipachyov, eakin, karlsson, bellamare, lindberg down the middle. Getting Oscar back would be great.

WRONG
if a guy has established himself long enough that we KNOW what his production is
THEN and only THEN
do we throw out draft position, which is only a guesstimate indicator, but it is consensus on projected future production

Reinhart got buried
Blysma did to him what AV did to some of our guys

I brought this up btw, in context of Andersson
We have no idea what his deal will be, but a case can be made that the guy will eventually, possibly, reasonably likely, replace most of what Scheif offers

stop with the narrow, rigid and inaccurate thinking, pls

Not wanting to blow up the team with your fantasy hogwash is not narrow, rigid and inaccurate

its REASONABLE

Never been impressed with Bennett in the slightest.

Would not consider moving Zuccarello for him unless there is a huge plus coming our way.

nhl.com has an article saying devils going to resolve the kovy thing within a couple of days, i know they probably wont trade him to us, but man i really i want him, he's 34 get him on a 3yr deal move miller to center and he plays the wing

My guess is he ends up in Columbus.

What am I missing here. Thornton re-signed with the Sharks

To bern, everyone else always crazy and he's the genius. Seriously, only person that takes his proposals seriously is himself. And boy is he impressed by them too.
