Babs loves Marleau.

Debeor treated Marleau like a 2nd class citizen.

Pete's gotta way of doing that.. dumb move on his part... it's why leaders of teams under him want to leave.

TOR paid a huge premium. They'll buy him out after year 2.

Joe hasn't signed yet I heard.

Bern, pls stop w/ INSANE trade proposals.
Like trading for people because of their draft positions.
Reinhart.

THIS!!!

Just because he was drafted 3rd overall, doesn't mean it adds to his value. If that was the case, someone would have claimed McIlrath the 3(!) times he had to pass waivers last season. Instead, he was traded for scraps, twice

Sam Bennett?

The Flames need a RW. Troy Brouwer and Michael Frolik are the their top two RW's.

Mats Zuccarello.

Bennett is a group II without arbitration rights.

Calgary traded all of their picks for Hamonic and they are in another epic battle of Alberta steel cage match with the Oilers.

Zuccarello helps them try to win right away. They really need that top 6 forward. Bennett is their 3rd line center behind Monahan and Backlund.

Bennett is young(21). The Rangers want to "rebuild on the fly" and remain competitive. Bennett will cost $2M-$2.5M in a two year bridge contract. The Rangers free up cap space for the next two seasons. Zuccarello has two years remaining. Bennett gives the Rangers another young center option.

The Rangers would need more in the deal. Rasmus Andersson? I read everyone crying about the Rangers passing up on Andersson to select Gropp. Adam Fox?

Brace for the minions.

TBH, I don't like this deal. I think that Dallas is the spot for Zucc. Faksa, 1st and another piece or 2 (Nichuskin?)

MTL is building their entire franchise around Price. They'll make the playoffs with him.

It's the same with Rangers and Hank.

The season they missed was when they only got 6 points from Valley, who **** the bed royally that year.

Think about that. When you're goalie can steal 12-20 points a year... you make the playoffs in this league.

Only a handful in the league now.

Hell look at Dubnyk when he got hot.... those Minny teams... he carried them for months at a time.

I think MTL is going to be a trap happy team for a long time to come.

35+ contract, though. Because of this, I believe they wouldn't receive any Cap relief by buying him out. The full 6.25 would be charged to the Leafs' Cap in his 3rd season...even though they wouldn't have to pay him that amount.

Silly deal by the Leafs.

Yeah. A buy-out doesn't solve any cap-issues on a 35+ contract, even if he retires

I love this idea.

solution IMO

Zuc + Buch [elc, so they do it] [EDIT CORRECT +] 2 3rds
for
Reinhart + 2 2nds

Nash to top bidder he accepts; possible SJ to help Nash, to Chicago at half for Anisimov, given Hossa; or other

and this is what I came up with

McDonagh + Andersson + Holden + moderate add
should be enough
for
Scheifle

andersson drafted near Scheifle as to OA position, he is a boy playing with men, any F slot. A nice down payment
McD they hope to extend, if not, use for year and trade for huge rental haul
Holden, not much, but they need LD

they will want MORE
if it is little bit concession we can handle we do it

ultimately, Jets have to decide if deal is too profitable or not to pass up
McD - Trouba would be nice

Kreider- Schiefle - Zib
Miller Reinhart Gropp
Grabner Hayes Vesey
Pump Nieves Fast

does not reflect who we get for Nash

room for rooks to bring it
Skjei - Shatty
smith DeAng
graves - Beargloves

Staal for whatever

oh, think we may be able to bribe DRW
Howard is like 5.19 or something like that x 2
staal is 5.75 for longer

Howard for Staal/reduced ++
better than a buyout

Well it's a good thing they have Julien then because that's how he played his Bruins teams. They're bulking up for that style too getting Alzner, but IMO, it's a bad move since they're going to rely too heavily on Price. We should try to pick Bergevin's pocket while we can.

I've brought up Bennett's name for the past two months before we made the Stepan trade. I would've sent them Hayes and rocked Step-Mika-Bennett down the middle, but I'm iffy on that now. I like Bennett's game, but if I had the chance to go for him or Galchenyuk, I'd choose Chucky

Oh you are right

Man that's the year Marner, Mathews need new deals... That's a real screw up by Lou.

2 years yeah, but that third?

Btw they are out of the Duchene sweeps

WRONG
if a guy has established himself long enough that we KNOW what his production is
THEN and only THEN
do we throw out draft position, which is only a guesstimate indicator, but it is consensus on projected future production

Reinhart got buried
Blysma did to him what AV did to some of our guys

I brought this up btw, in context of Andersson
We have no idea what his deal will be, but a case can be made that the guy will eventually, possibly, reasonably likely, replace most of what Scheif offers

stop with the narrow, rigid and inaccurate thinking, pls

What do you think will actually happen to the team now, which trades will realistically be made? Trade for Duchene/McKinnon? I'm having a real hard time figuring out what's next for the team this offseason.

Sakic doesn't recognize a good deal if it hit him in the face. I have no clue if Duchene or MacKinnon will ever be traded.

Bozak might be a relatively cheap stopgap now that Toronto will likely want to shed some salary.

They might end up doing nothing other than signing a few stragglers. There's not much out there that's immediately better than what they already have. Maybe Desharnais/Grigorenko/Jokinen? IDK.
