Dumba would be nice, but can't imagine Minny let's him go.
I think it’d have to be some form of a hockey trade to help them alleviate cap. They’re tight on cap and need to sign him, but do they trust Spurgeon/Brodin (I know he’s a lefty) as their top RD options?

I love how people pick and choose sources depending on the message.

Days ago the 4th Period was a clown. Now he says we're out on EK and he's the truth.

Carp is also saying it and AFAIK, Brooks has never said that we were in.

That’s what I am afraid of!
We suddenly have a ton of organizational depth of the left side, unlike when Day was drafted. It's honestly not a huge deal if he doesn't pan out. Giving him 2 or 3 years in the AHL to see if he can figure out the mental side of the game is pretty much the only way I see him succeeding at this point, because he isn't going to get away with 99% of the shit he did in juniors.

I think Brodin is actually much better on the right than on the left. So it might be possible. I think they're another team that might like to improve down the middle.

I think they have enough space to get Zucker and Dumba under contract. Just a matter of whether or not they think they can compete in that division with the lack of depth down the middle.

He's kinda been on the EK stuff from the start.

He had Tavares to Toronto before all the big guys too.

DP is hit or miss, but he's gotten plenty of stuff right. Doesn't mean that he's right on this, but it sounds like he is.

Yeah, their division being a hellscape is a good reason they may not move him. They’re probably better taking a step back now, but I don’t think they’ll do that with the Suter and Parise contracts on the books until the rapture. Their trade with Vegas hurt them a lot by getting rid of Tuch

Can't speak to his credibility, but I feel the need to emphasize how difficult it can be to nail things all the time.

There are so many moving parts and variables, to say nothing about how a single piece of missing information can change things radically.

People yearn for inside information, but it's a real challenge to share, especially when the punishment for things changing is Crucifixion.

Did Sean Day even play in the scrimmage? I didn't see him out there. If he was, he was invisible. But I think he might have been kept out. Also, she didn't mention Lindgren -- who I thought looked very steady out there. Easily as good as Ragnarsson. So, take it with a grain of salt. There's good stuff in there, but Leslie Treff is to hockey analysis as Dylan McIlrath is to top-10 draft picks. There are things to like, but it's still a big reach.

Get Panarin before he hits FA. Use Hayes plus to get him now
Why not just wait? What do we need Panarin here for this season? Are we contending?

Just a perfect example of piss poor asset management right there. If a player wants to come here, and the feeling is mutual, then wait a year like we did with Shattenkirk.

When does Nashville start to get nervous about Fabrro going free agent? He will be a junior this fall. One more year and Dante can make his own deal. Quinn knows him very well.

I think Fabbro will sign in Nashville. They're a competitive team and the city is attractive to players.

Having said that, going back a number of years Fabbro has often left me unimpressed when he faces tougher competition.

Not just here and there, but consistently.

Considering he’s stated that NY is one of the places he wants to go, why waste the assets?

f*** trading for Panarin or Seguin. Amazing players, but they’re not on Karlsson’s level.

Karlsson is the exception to me, especially with the potential of a “Ryan tax”.

Re the $ for remaining rfas-

Hayes with term- at least 5 mm
Brady with term- approaching 4mm
Vesey short term- probably around 2mm
Spooner- 1 yr (with or without arb) is probably around 4.

So I count $15mm there, leaving about 10mm in space for our spares and two kids to make the roster
