Lucic is still slow..and prone to stupidity...but the guys scary to play against and goes to the net. I wouldnt take him for free...but if u paid me...I would.
 
Erik Karlsson is on the trade market, but the dynamic Ottawa defenseman won’t be coming to Manhattan, The Athletic has learned.

According to people familiar with the Rangers’ thinking, a trade for Karlsson would go against their rebuild in that they would not be willing to give up the top prospects it would take to get him, they would not be willing to take on Bobby Ryan, whose cap-hit the Senators desperately want to dump as part of a deal, and they would not be willing to extend Karlsson to a Drew Doughty-type of contract (he just re-signed with Los Angeles for eight years at $11 million per). Karlsson is signed through the coming season ($6.5 million) and an extension would not kick in until he’s 29, in 2019-20.

There is a variable that we're not sure about right now, and that's retention. Based on Ottawa's management, they may not want to retain while Edmonton might be in a position to do so. Also, Edmonton might be open to taking a bad contract back (i.e. Staal, Smith), especially since they lack experienced Dmen. Based on what the analysts are saying, we seem to be game for either if it means we can stockpile assets.

Anyone that writes something like that, ‘Rangers OR Tampa’, are always hacks. How couldn’t he hear if it was Rangers or Tampa? Was he only a bad phone line?

Old news. “People familiar with Rangers thinking” is an amazing line. So people who may or may not know what is going on in the room and/or people who do not get updated daily on the team’s direction because they are not in the room.

Or it could be someone who is in the room, possibly even Jeff Gorton himself or people close to him (Drury, Slats, etc.)

It's pretty common terminology.

We were a much tougher squad under Torts. Not necessarily in the beat your face in kind of way, but that was as gritty a group as you're going to see.

I'm against Lucic unless he returns something awesome. But I'd love to watch him (or someone) knock the piss out of Taylor Hall.

As am I. I want something of substance coming back...but an in his prime lucic was a MONSTER
20 goal 50 to 60 point player who murdered ppl with hits and intimidated everyonr...

Prime lucic was a unique talent.
