how many times can Katie Strang tweet that the rangers don't have any money? if the rangers don't have money to sign Matt Hendricks, then there is no discussion.

we're either making a trade, or trading someone to make room to sign someone...

I haven't read back the thread but I don't understand the Moore love. Great player but a year removed from hockey, do we want another BR?

A lot of intangibles with Dominic, and wouldn't cost more than 1 mil per

Nystrom or Lapierre would be ideal. Moore would be cheap and a decent pick up, but is he in shape?

Well if we're just looking at the stats--that's great.

Considering he was going to help our pwp and that hasn't worked out in the last two years--or that he's getting slower and worse defensively and that he made numerous blind bailout before I get hit passes that's enough reason for me anyway that he should be hitting the road. it's not just his stats--his overall game in a lot of areas needs to get a lot better.

Hey, if it were up to me he would have been bought out. But at this point he's a Ranger for another year. Hopefully AV doesn't try and force him into a top line roll if he's clearly no longer suited for it. Time will tell. Considering what was available this UFA class and Sather's apparent incapability of not spending all his money, perhaps we'll be better off for it in the long run. We'll see.

Seriously? We couldn't afford a player at 1.85m?
Are we really that tight to the cap.

So he deserves to be paid 250K less than Tavares? I don't think so.

You can't compare a UFA contract to a RFA contract. It's apples and oranges in terms of leverage. Clarkson's deal is ridiculous, no doubt, but who cares what Tavares makes? Would you compare Clarkson's deal to Landeskog's? Of course not, it's a UFA deal vs. an ELC. Same thing applies to Tavares' RFA deal.

AV said they are looking at defensive depth more than offensive depth.
I had a feeling he was going to mention the missing RHD on the PP, but didn't want to disclose. Just a feeling though.

I suppose cost is big + but intangibles require execution. Slightly off as a whole and the intangibles are gone.

True, but he's a high energy guy and the contract is low, he plays like Cally, guys like that can bounce back

Such a mistake not signing Weiss. God damn it that was the one signing I've been preaching. Detroit gets him on a great deal too. I expected it to be low cost as well. What a terrible shame.

When you only have $1m-2m or, at most, $3m to spend, $4.9m is an impossibility.

this is an AWFUL free agent class. Grabovski is probably the only player im interested in coming into the day, and even then only on the cheap, which he wont get im sure.

Are there any reports of NYR talking to players (signed or available)?

Seems like we're standing pat in our interest because of assumption of lack of cap.
