Since AV said he wants his 4th line to be a energy line, would you consider Boyle, Fuggeeetttaaaboot it, and Dorsett to be that line? Just curious.

Does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to lock step and mcd each up for 8 yrs. I'd prefer to pay current rate vice when the cap goes up.

I'd think 4-4.5 each could get it done. And I'd definitely do it. They're going to command 5-6 mill. when they hit free agency.

Considering how long goalies in this league, especially the great ones, stay effective; I think the Rangers' window to win will coincide with the King's great years... and he's got a lot left.

I'd absolutely do anyone but Mcdonagh, even Girardi. It would be a crazy return though, I doubt we would give up whats needed.

I think I'd do Yakupov for Girardi, mainly because I can see McIllrath effectively stepping into Girardi's role sooner rather than later.

Yakupov is an incredible talent.

No need for a big splash.

Pick up Moore or Lapierre to center the 4th line, and maybe grab a guy like Nystrom somehow. If we didn't go after Hendricks due to money vs. term, then we can't do anything significant without trading.

Not a bad thing right now, with this UFA overpayment.

Yep, until they get pushed around, then it's time to scramble for anyone else to play.

Although, if they think one of Haley/Mashinter can seriously take a role this year, then I am good with it.

Mash - Boyle - Dorsett next season sounds good to me.

To temporarily scale back player salaries so that the owners could start raising them again to ridiculous amounts in order to lead to another lockout.

I guess the scale back effect lasted a whole zero days in July. These contracts are ridiculous.

Yeah, there is no way in hell Edmonton trades Yakupov for anything on the Rangers roster.

People have made that mistake before. The Rangers are plenty game.

They just won't be in the best position to respond or deter aggression. They know it. I'm thinking they will address it soon.

I'm all for playing the kids but if we play vets in bottom six then pyatt and Boyle ideally should provide cover/ toughness but they don't. Mcd was run terrible during playoffs and players like ovi will continue to run us until we put an end to it. I don't want our guys abused like that but I don't want a 4 min player taking a roster spot either.

We need a kassian type and we need at least one dman with grit.
