disagree - but let's see what he can do on his ownHe's definitely worth $10m aav
Shitty Boston Pizza owner's son is comparable to used car salesman bryan colangelo. Both frauds. What the heck happened in Calgary? Seems sudden after a great regular season...Sutter?
Francis is dreaming thinking the Flames could get Kyrou lool.
Something I heard thrown out there was what if the Matthews camp wants to kick the can down the road to allow the cap to take a couple significant leaps before locking in that lifetime deal.
If for example Matthews wanted a 2-3 year extension at what he’s making now to maybe 12.5 that allows them to get a better hold of the landscape of the league post Covid.
I don’t think you could be upset about that as a leaf fan either as it essentially means they end up with the 7-8 year deal at his current cap hit in the end and can extend a massive lifetime deal once escrow is paid back and there’s a ~100m cap.
They've talked about 3 pieces in return like a 1st, good prospect and good roster player.

and after that Kerfoot, Holl and Muzzin need to go if you're fitting a 9M guy.
But the Leafs 100% could have done that within the rules. The problem with that scenario will always be, in 99% of cases, that the player wouldn’t want to assume that risk of delaying their long term payday by a year and potentially getting hurt or hard slumping, costing them significant amounts of money
Any chance we can go after Jonathan Toews? Our second line needs to be more of a threat in the playoffs.
Toews had an awful year and has injury concerns. Even at 50% retention he's likely not a good value for the Leafs.
why do you keep trading william and getting worse pieces back every single time without fail.If the flames are indeed blowing it up, then I'm going after Rasmus Andersson hard. He's locked up for 4 more years at an aav of 4.55 million. He's be such a perfect partner for Rielly while adding some size and toughness to our team as well.
To Toronto-
Rasmus Andersson
Jakob Pelletier
To Calgary-
William Nylander
Rasmus Sandin

Still trying to get my head around how the Caps were able to trade Vanecek for solid value but couldn't or didn't move Samsonov, and left him unqualified....
Vanecek is a year older but their brief career stats aren't too far off from each other. Samsonov had a slightly worse year this year but not drastic enough for such a difference in value.
Would you trade Nylander for one year of Matthew Tkachuk?
Yup, not for one year.I'd trade Nylander for Tkachuk but a fresh long term deal would have to be agreed to first.
