Joe Morrow is believed to be one of the pieces going from DAL to BOS. Also, perhaps Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser. Looking for

Kreider? lol. Not even close to as valuable as Seguin or Eriksson even before this season.

Not as valuable, I agree. That's why I said one could argue. After scoring 5 goals in the playoffs, his value was at an all time high. Kreider + could've gotten a hefty return in a trade.

Glad the Rangers aren't involved in this team, do you understand what we'd have to trade for Eriksson? Let's see how big the price is for the Stars and we'll see what kind of comparable we can come up with.

But you couldn't argue that because he was never close to being as valuable as Seguin or Eriksson.

No, that's fan thought. Players values do not change on a day to day basis based on small samples. Whether Kreider scored 5 goals in the playoffs, 0 goals, or didn't play it wouldn't make any difference.

Exactly.

Yet we have Bickell making 16+ million over the next 4 years.

increasing market. Bickell's overall play has been improving with each passing NHL season. He was on pace for nearly 40 pts (twice in his career) while bringing his physical dimension to his game. His salary is on par with other similar players of his ilk.

Looks like Boston dropping some salary in this trade too if they're getting prospects from Dallas. I don't even know what the trade is, but I already feel like I love it from a Boston standpoint.

Free agency and trades are completely different. And yes, I know, Bickell signed before actually becoming a UFA but he can use that as leverage knowing teams will make offers for him. Blackhawks partly had to overpay Bickell in order to keep him from hitting the free market.

I mean are you trying to tell me because Kreider scored 5 playoff goals he was worth Seguin right then but had he not scored those goals he would only be worth 2nd/3rd line types? He's the same guy. His skills are the same.

He also decided not to test the market. He took a discount to stay in Chicago. Would've gotten more had he tested the market.
