Long term what they're doing is fine, but if they're counting on Steve Mason and the defense they have now without trading Schenn, Couturier, or Voracek for a defenseman they're not in a good position for the next couple years at all.

Agreed 100% with this. I don't get it at all.

Huge trade in the works. Boston and Dallas close on a deal sending Tyler Seguin to Stars for Loui Eriksson. Other parts involved as well.

How is that?

Seguin has gotten underrated very quickly. Boston already lost Horton as well. Seguin and Horton >>> Loui Eriksson

Tell me a team in the East (or the NHL for that matter) that is more rounded, from the net on out. That team has so much depth it's insane. And I'm sure they can find a way to replace Horton. Free Agency hasn't even started yet.

Meh. They definitely are one of the more rounded teams in the league, but to say that after a Seguin for Eriksson trade that they are "easily" the best team in the east is a bit hyperbole. Seguin was one of there best players in the Finals series. Who the hell are they going to replace Horton with? Hes the best FA Available. Jagr? Clowe? Clarkson? C'mon.

Seguin wasn't producing enough. Eriksson is an excellent, developed two-way forward that produces on both ends of the rink. Seguin was way too inconsistent. So they lost Horton. They'll replace him. They'll be fine.

We will know for sure once all of the pieces of the trade are known, but Jim Nil getting right to work.

The Bruins save a million and a half in cap space, substituting Eriksson for Seguin.

NJ and Montreal were among several suitors for Ryane Clowe. Told Habs are out now. Devils very interested in Clowe.

As @DarrenDreger first broke, Bruins/Stars have monster trade involving Seguin, Eriksson & more. Told players are being notified now.

But jeez, Eriksson-Bergeron-Marchand is right up there for best lines in the league.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
Trade is bigger than Seguin for Eriksson. Draft picks to Boston? Prospects? Working on details.

if clowe signs with nj you just know he'll never get another concussion and shove it up our rears
