I would really, really be down for Klingberg if theres any kind of short term option available.

I think he would be incredible - and I bet your ass that so would Brian Murray. For him it was all about having enough dmen that can effectively move the puck up to the forwards - especially if you have elite forwards. And Klingberg would help compliment our deep group of forwards in a big way imo - and help to make that #2PP unit a dangerous one.

I know people have their hearts set on a defensive minded top 4 dman - but I really think that Klingberg could have the biggest impact for us of any available dman in the NHL right now. Having him and Chabot on opposite pairings would add an element of elite puck moving to both of the top pairings.

Chabot-Zub
Sanderson-Kiingberg
Branny-Hamonic
Holden

Thats a playoff team caliber group of dmen if Sanderson and Branny can play up to the challenge of it.

I'd go a different direction.

Chabot Zub
Holden Klingberg
Sanderson Hamonic

Then, maybe, as the season progresses, you flip Sanderson and Holden.

For sure its all interchangeable. I guess my main point is that with a group of forwards like we have now - having two elite PMDmen is almost a must if you want to get the most out of them.

Use Tyler Boucher, and/or next years 1st, and/or a top prospect (not name Sanderson) for all I care

I need a top 3 defenseman, or even a top 2

Chychrun is overrated .
Depends on how you rate him. He’s not going to be “The Guy” on a top pair but would be an excellent side kick. He can be an excellent 2nd pairing guy, ideally he carries the 2nd pair and brings a cannon to the PP.

We will need ELCs which is why prospects like Grieg and Boucher should stay.

Hopefully, they re-sign Zub which leaves Holden & Hamonic as UFAs in their last yr. Zaitsev has two more yrs, but hopefully they are able to move him & the Sens could lose three veteran defenders before the end of the season. They need a top 4 RD for next season & need to find one soon before they are all gone.

Kleven is probaly coming next yr along with Roger although I would expect both to start their careers in Belleville maybe one of them makes the team. I doubt both JBD & Thomson play in Ottawa I expect one to be traded & IMO most likely Thomson.

Disagree. But that’s what the forums are for
I think he's top notch. He was on team Canada's radar for the Olympics which is pretty high praise

The concern I have with him is his inability to play a full season as a young guy. He misses 20 games a season.

But, if we do get him, without giving up a roster player, I think the window is wide open. I think we're a playoff caliber team with what we have but adding him without moving anyone out and we're in tip top shape

Would be an amazing birthday present. If he does I'll secure seasons as a present to my self. 200 level looks like the move.
Happy birthday Bert.

Serious question. Are there any unwritten rules in the league about days off. Like sundays or weekends. Or are the phones always going for GMs. I would assume it’s every day

Happy b day I got myself a half season it’s the only amount of games I can make with having a second job every evening. I’ll be at every single Friday Saturday Sunday game + make some time for the 6 others or give them away

So here's what it *might* look like next year....

Tkachuk 8.25
Norris 7.95
Batherson 4.975
Giroux 6.5
Debrincat 10
Stutzle 10
Formenton 3
Joseph 2.5
Pinto 2.5
BOTTOM 3 3.2

Chabot 8
Zub 5
Sanderson 1
Holden 1.3

Sogard 1
Forsberg 2.75

TOTAL = 77.93

Needs: 2 Dmen and depth

I speculated Stutzle and Debrincat will get 10 each, I think it could be 9, but it also could be more than 10.

A also speculated on Sanderson - and it was a big speculate. Who knows what he'll get.

I figured we'd re-sign Holden again for the same amount.

Dunno what Joseph and Formenton will get, guessed 5.5 between them. Don't know what Pinto will get.

So...cap problems coming.
No to Stutzle and Debrincat at 10M each

I’m totally fine if Debrincat helps us make the playoffs this year and we trade him in the summer. I Think there’s more then enough talent overall in the kids like Greig, Pinto, Formenton to make up for his offensive minutes and 40 goals.

Thanks guys! Yeah first row to second row is a difference of 3 k. Still on the fence.

I'll be giving 75% to clients. Probably keep Saturdays ;).

No days off in this job I'd imagine.

I think Hamonic will try to stay with the Sens and I think most players in NHL will want to play with the Sens

I didn't say Ottawa, cause S-RED :)

Such a super quick 180 from a few months ago.
Those are my feeling for the Sens right now:
