The price may be going down as team's solidify their rosters and some teams try to become cap compliant.

At this point team rosters are kind of set, Kadri and Klingberg are still out there so there is the potential that a roster or two gets shaken up a bit, but I think most GMs are in "let's see what happens" mode.

I wouldn't be surprised if we start the season with our roster as-is and the hope is something happens somewhere (injury, a team underperforming) and we can find a way to pry a RD out of it.

Some GMs might be waiting for the non cap compliant teams to get desperate and make a trade to get under the cap. There is no rush to get it done; however, the number of teams with cap space will slowly decrease.
 
In theory would people rather have:

Debrincat and 4th rounder

Or

Bjorkstrand plus 1st rounder and 2nd rounder?
 
If the Sens needed to replace a top 6 RW and a middle 6 LW, who would be good replacements around the league (esp. free agents)?

You could replace formenton with Rodrigues. There’s no one there that could replace batherson.

I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves though. Just a harmless discussion though, why not.

They don’t need to actually throw fists to have a good rivalry. I think they’re competitive enough to be able to battle each other hard without a fistfight, which truthfully I wouldn’t want to see anyway. They’re brothers. I don't want to see them throw punches.

Folks who are pushing to see that are jackals.

I really like Greig and think he is going to be a VG player but I also like Formenton too.

At this time Formenton is ahead of Greig due to maturation and development.

I think Greig may become the better player over his full career but Formenton is getting better too. I am happy with both on the team.

Fair enough - we’ll see where Greig’s game is and if Formy gets a contract.

A year from now Greig could be DJ favourite 3L which makes Formy a 4L. Greig checks a lot of boxes for DJ that Formy chose not to show us last year.

I'm hoping Greig has second line potential.

Formenton will never be more than a Vermette. Very useful player but not top 6 material.

- Watson, Holden & Hamonic are all UFAs & could be moved by the TDL
- Gambrell could be waived & play in Belleville
- buy out Zaitsev
- sign UFA Klingberg

Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - Klingberg/JBD
Holden - Hamonic/Brann/Thomson

Forsberg - Talbot/Sogaard

- Klingberg could eventually be replaced by either JBD or Thomson.
- IMO Kleven & Roger will eventually be the 3rd pairing & bring some size & grit to the D after Holden & Hamonic are gone.
- they should also have lots of depth options in Sokolov, Jarventie, Ostapchuk, Boucher, O'Neill, Nordberg, Romeo, Petersson & Reidler.
