If I critique a players cap hit it doesn't mean I dislike them either. Heck I even like Colin White's game despite his cap hit. I even like Phaneuf despite his cap hit. Yet I still critiqued the cap hit.

For both of these things it seems like everyone is fair game except Brady on this board.

I have come to realized that without a doubt most of Brady fans are bunch of high schoolers.

They don't understand what 'critiquing part of a players' game' means. Their vocabulary is limited to words like haters etc. and they like to throw that word out at every opportunity they get.

Won't be surprised if they spam the mods here to get us banned from the forum

Every player that you have mentioned and others (who were far better than Brady) has been critiqued. Not sure what makes Brady the only player who should be immune to that

I'd much rather not trade Norris, I like him a lot.

I was just saying that of our long term commitments, he's probably the one I'd trade. Hard to believe some people on here suggested trading Chabot....

Brady is the captain, Chabby is second fiddle. Neither are going anywhere!

Bottom 6 will get replaced if they get to expensive.

Weegar is not option , he is looking for too much money and is a turn over machine. When Ekblad was very exposed defensively. Don't want to over pay for him. Unless we find another team willing to deal because of cap issues we will have to deal with a band-aid situation this year. Even Dorion told us Top 4D don't grow on trees and the market was thin for them this season. Is one of reasons he justified Hamonic singing.

All this cap talk makes me laugh! Soon we will have buyouts off the books, Zaitsev gone, Watson, One of the goalies and hell Giroux may retire in 3 years.Everyone needs to worry about today and not tomorrow!

lol, I know what you're getting at, but I think the worry is more fitting everyone under the cap. And, you know how it is...the shiny toys in the store window are more attractive than the toys in your hand already.

Kinda crazy how we went from a budget team that can't afford hot water in the bathrooms to wanting every UFA and star player in the league in the span of a month.
 
What a bunch of ridiculous nonsense in this thread. I would engage but it is almost 2 am and I need my beauty sleep.

I mean Boro was definitely a high draft pick who came into the league in his D+1 and made an immediate impact. In his 22 year old season he totally paced for 70 points establishing himself as the best up and coming power forwards and one of hardest guy to play against.

The parallels are so clear that I can't believe I didn't see it myself. Thanks for enlightening us!

Obviously Brady gets even more love because he's an actual good player and not someone barely hanging on to their NHL spot and career.

Not to mention Brady's last name is hockey royalty. A lot of people love royalty as a default.

What's so funny. I think Sanderson will suprise you this year. By the the end of the season and next year he will be one of our best players imo
 
We can have Chabot and Sanderson, we can keep both Tkachuk and Debrincat, Norris and Stützle can stick around too. 2-3 years from now is when decisions need to be made and you look at those players then to see what the future holds. There will come a time where cap constraints will force a difficult decision.

Out of all those guys, Debrincat is the most likely candidate to price himself out of the roster. Or maybe Ottawa makes the playoffs and he shows that he's still a stud in spite of his size.

Tkachuk and Chabot are not going anywhere. Sanderson will get paid if he shows he's the man - which I firmly believe he will - and Stützle and Norris will be core pieces. A guy like Pinto could be one to move for picks and prospects to keep the bottom half the roster as cheap as possible. The new top 6 forward group can be mixed up with other players to give a balanced top 9. Giroux is done after 3 years, that money can go elsewhere.

If the core guys don't get the job done, then you tear it down again. Long time to go before we know how it goes

I think we also need to remember that the cap will be going up in 2-3 years with some contracts also coming off the books,I don’t think PD makes these big moves without taking this into consideration. I think he learned some lessons with the Duchene trade, so he must have a good feeling that he can re-sign Cat, just my opinion.

These kids will never sign with us they’re going to hold out for their hometowns.
