Doesn’t really matter. The money alone puts the rangers in a spot of weakness. This is nothing more than a smaller team helping out a bigger team for a favor down the road

Maybe, but I think Verbeek realizes that rebuilding teams can’t just completely suck for years. They’re not a playoff team, but adding Trouba to help insulate some of their young D helps them. It makes sense for them beyond just being a “favor”.

After next year, they can re-sign Trouba at a lesser rate or flip him at the deadline with retention.

Per reports, multiple teams were interested and ready to trade for him. Trouba picked the Ducks.

Trouba has been really bad but I bet he’ll play a bit better in Anaheim anyway. I don’t think it’d a coincidence he picked a market that doesn’t care, can’t imagine it didn’t mentally wear him down hearing how bad he is every day.

I would love to get paid 56 million over 7 years to be told I am terrible at my job by everyone.

Some trades work out, others don’t. It’s no different than any other type of player.

One thing has been proven though. If you want to be a cup winner or succeed in the playoffs, you need multiple defensemen who are big and physical.

Meanwhile on HFBoards and Twitter people are still pining over Erik Brannstrom.
Brannstrom, AND Ceci.

I swear, it's like people have their photos beside their beds or something. Or maybe it's just that they think we all know so little about hockey that they need to use former players as examples all the time.

Whatever the reason.... I can't wait to never see either name on the trade thread again!

As for the Trouba deal, freed up a ton of cash for a stupid sheshterkin deal - what a trip. Guys paid more than Bob as a percentage of the cap. Not worth it.

Guessing Anaheim was the only team not requiring retention. Crazy that he went without a pick or three attached at that aav. Bananagrams!

Wait, there is a second person who here puts Ceci in trade proposals?

He's a big, two-way 24 year old middle six centre. That is a very valuable piece.

Do people forget what it was like when we had guys like Chris Tierney as a top six centre? Centres of Pinto's quality are hard to acquire.
And a right shot to boot, even harder to find.

Upper I think, surprisingly not lower after Sanderson took a slapper as he skated by him.
Do you think this is the team giving a reason for us so he can be with Momma Bear and the little one? He hasn't looked...like he is in the game when he has played. Money doesn't matter...he would trade it all for the little one in less than a heart beat.

You mean Fabbro?

Things that don't look good from the Dorion era? Tolvanen is at the top of your list?
I didn’t say it was at the top of the list

Norris for Cozen
Is cozen scoring more than Norris ?

CBJ had waiver priority. I don't disagree that we should have made enough cap space in order to trade for Fabbro (Ala not signing Perron and keeping Joseph).
Did they? I thought we were behind them in the standings. Okay that changes things maybe we were going to get him

Brady for Laf + Kakko + 1st would definitely be satisfactory to me.

Yeah the return on Karlsson looked very underwhelming at first but it turned into a really amazing trade for us pretty quickly.
The "amazing" part was the draft pick that got us Stutzle. The rest has not turned out to be great.

Brady for Lafrenniere plus NYR's next two first round picks is what I want. I don't think Kakko is panning out.

The pining over Branstrom is because we don't have competent big physical D that are better than him. It's a sad state of affairs.

Branny is an excellent bottom pair option and better than what we have right now. We didn't upgrade the bottom pair by letting him go. It was obvious then its even more obvious now.

The NHL is not just about size anymore....If you can find size and skill and speed then sure but we look slow and mostly not intimidating on most nights

If Pinto gets it going, then Travis has a great trio at his disposal! Wow. Insightful wishful thinking.

Two good chances so far.

3 Shots so far in less than 2 minutes.

Good back checking by the Fs to disrupt the Preds after they entered our zone.

Our coverage in our D zone sucks again. How did Hamonic lose his stick?

Good play by Kleven to deflect the shot.
