It's simple, he makes the common shitbird on here feel much, much better about their beer gut and receding hairline, while former pro athletes....don't.

He was a top 4 dman on an ECF team last year, he's not as bad as you're making him out to be.

And the crowd helps you win hockey games. The players always feed off the energy of the crowd, they're not just saying that to make the fans feel good.

If we were better defensively, maybe I'd consider it. As sort of a guy to up the ante in the playoffs.

I don't see him helping us get into the playoffs. Maybe for free and at the salary of Hamonic.

Bad players can look good on good teams. We know this better than anyone.

The Rags got to the ECF because Shesterkin played beast mode.

In no world is he better than Zub, unless Zub is injured and you just want a warm body. He's a 3rd pairing guy with good reach and can block shots and hit, but he doesn't have the elements in his game needed to play in the top 4 for a successful team. Below average offense to his game, and below average defense.

Based on what he brings to the table, I'd rather have Luke Schenn so I don't have to worry about other players being head hunted.

I was responding to a poster who suggested Trouba was equivalent to Hamonic, which is not at all true.

The contract is the problem. Give him Hamonic’s contract and every playoff GM would be calling up the Rangers. But I imagine nobody will be calling Staios to get their hands on Hamonic this year.

It was a way to illustrate my point. But you knew that.

Your evaluation of Zub is off.

Both he and Trouba are #4 guys, but Trouba is much more physical. Both below average skaters, not much offense, and decent defensively.

His salary is also demonstrative of how far he's fallen and how fast.

Feels like things are snowballing if they are getting the big guns out to deny this.

I think he's gone this week if there are legitimate big offers on the table. They got through all the Christmas season ticket sales. There is a big road trip coming up.

Although, it might be a ploy by the team to get some of those $12 tickets for the Ducks game sold on Stubhub. If people think it could be Brady's last game, we'll reach 10k+ in the house again. We can't do the Pizza Line thing every night to draw.

I think Tkachuk gets traded this summer if we don't come close to making the playoffs. It is too early in the season for him to give up on the team just yet.

In fairness, he didn't say that the Senators have engaged with the Rangers on Tkachuk, he said the Rangers have him as their #1 target.

Seems like a tip from the Rangers camp to plant a seed with Brady. It's no secret that his NMC kicks in in July and he and his wife live in neighbouring New Jersey during the summers...

If Keith is in Celebrity Row at a Knicks game next week... we should be concerned.
 
To be fair, it’s smart by Brooks. There’s no way to prove that the Rangers are not targeting Tkachuk and he very likely is a top target for them. He’s not really saying anything wrong. It’s up to you to perceive it that way.

The issue is our fanbase is, like the team, very fragile
