Well we might have a ton of cap space at the deadline I suppose.
oh Good, it can get worse.... EEEEKKKKKK

How does this draft compare to previous years?
Vegas had Barbashev, they had Stone and Eichel all big money players... Terrible example.Vegas didn't have a Tkachuck, Colorado didn't, Tampa didn't, Penguins didn't.
You don't need a Tkachuck to win you need a deep team, with great top end and defensively responsible players.
Also you realize we've had Brady for like years and haven't won shit? Like not even the bare minimum.
And I love Zub, get it right.
Id cancel my season tickets immediately. This team is so soft and people want to trade Tkachuk/are accepting that he wants out. Thats bullshit. Which Staios just said they are building around him literally today.Teams would be willing to pay an absolutely insane amount for Tkachuk
This is the same league where career 50-60P guy PLD got 8.5M x 8YRs because he occasionally throws hits and drives the net when he isn't being a lazy entitled POS (which is most of the time).
It's the same league that saw Anderson get 5.5M x 7YRs coming off of a 1 goal 4 point season and Wilson get a 6.5M x 7YR extension starting when he's 30.
And did anyone see what Tampa Bay paid for Jeannot last trade deadline? Traded what amounts to an entire draft in picks for a guy that had 14 points in 56 games because he's tough and can fight.
Teams do extremely desperate and stupid things for these types of players, and unlike the plugs named above Brady can actually play.
If he were traded there's no doubt in my mind he'd return more than any other player in recent memory.
Ya with what Staois said, can close this thread.Vegas had Barbashev, they had Stone and Eichel all big money players... Terrible example.
Colorado has Landeskog.... Tampa literally went out after they got upset after the record breaking season and went got a ton of grit and has 4 players making 9 + million.
Florida just rode Matthew tkachuk to the final and they are the best team in the league. Players like Brady are unicorns. you wanted Jesper Bratt after one of the most pathetic playoff performances in recent memory. You like tiny skilled players.
you were just defending Brannstrom in another thread yesterday. You clearly dont like physicality or dont understand it. Its one of the two. Theres a reason every NHL gm looks for it. Theres a reason Jason York says he doesnt like the make up of this team. ITs because its soft and easy to play against. These are people that played in the NHL that are NHL GM's. Qualified winners. But I guess you know better?

He isnt going anywhere. End this madness and lets talk about realistic trades.
Chychrun, Tarasenko and maybe someone gives the sens something for Brannstrom.
Well why not just trade Brady Timmy and Jake then. Should get us lots of first rounders and prospects. Heck, one of then could turn out to be be as good as one of those three. The rest? Probably not.Brady package could be worth a lot more relative to the amount of games he wins us.
Ready to be called a hater so go at it.
Dreger says Chychrun is unlikely to move before the deadline and that Staois will "re-assess in the summer".

That just means he's not being offered anything he likes right now, or will try to re-sign him (even though they can negotiate now).Really ****ing stupid if true.

Teams can talk to him about re-signing I guess, although they can still probably negotiate now. What will change between now and the summer?
There won't be a bunch of teams lining up to extend Chychrun on a big money long-term deal coming off of a bad season.
We should be trading him as a two year rental to a contender by offering him at 2.3M for the next two years (and two playoff runs).
Coleman, Hagel and Goodrow got their teams far more than what was expected because of their bargain salaries on 2 year terms. Same will probably happen with Dowd this year.
Instead we're going to trade him in the off-season and hope for a DeBrincat-type return (late 1st), or god forbid sign him to a deal we'll quickly regret.
you trade norris if possible (likely impossible), and chychrun if possible. Obviously tarasenko and kubalik. And then try and move hamonic and one of brannstrom or jbd. And one of the goaltenders...i guess korpisalo ideally. So, who do we trade?
Obviously a serious shake-up of the lineup is needed.
Chychrun has to go. I would trade Norris, too injury prone. Pretty much everyone of the players is tradeable. I would keep Stutzle and Sanderson and listen to offers for anyone else.
Shane Pinto has sparked Ottawa Senators since returning from suspension | TSN
Shane Pinto brushed off his three-point game in Washington, which came in a 6-3 Ottawa Senators loss to the Capitals and ended their two-game winning streak. He'd trade all his production victories.www.tsn.ca
Craig Button explains "Being outshot 19-0 in the third period is a microcosm of the rock bottom the Ottawa Senators find themselves in."
Exactly this. With the horrendous play of late, especially the last few games, Staois is getting low balled. He is not worth anything compared to what we have up for him. That just means he's not being offered anything he likes right now, or will try to re-sign him (even though they can negotiate now).
Parayko is done soon I think.like a package we get for Brady could result in more wins due to having a greater effect on a game to game basis.
i remember when we were going through the first Brady contract saga and no end seemed in sight, and I proposed
Thomas + Parayko for Brady
Blues fan were willing to do it. and does a package like that not make us unequivocally a better team than just Brady?
