I know this is a joke but it triggered a fight or flight response in me.Any interest in bringing back zaitsev? He’s an elite defender with elite footwork.

Zaitsev and Ceci and bring back Guy Boucher.
Also, Tom Pyatt.
It's weird, but I've got a feeling that both Korpi and Forsberg won't be here next season. I also feel a huge trade coming and I'm scared for it.
I’m of the opinion they are both back next year. It's weird, but I've got a feeling that both Korpi and Forsberg won't be here next season. I also feel a huge trade coming and I'm scared for it.
Korpisalo at $4M per AAV is not affordable as a backup goaltender. I agree Forsberg is on shaky ground with his injuries. You sound like me sitting at the sports bar reminiscing about our glory days.
Forsberg will be bought out, buried, or swapped for another contract.
I can't see how we move Korpisalo, unless it's a swap for another misfit goalie who has money and term remaining (Campbell, Grubauer, etc).
I think they try to bring in another goalie and go with a tandem next year. Korpisalo or Forsberg will be the #2 goalie.
Sogaard hasn't shown anything in the NHL, but he will still be waiver exempt next season so they can send him down to the AHL again.

I kind of wonder if goalies are going to start avoiding signing here until we right the ship, Murray went from multiple time Stanley Cup winner to cap dump requiring retention plus to move, Talbot from all star to having to accept a 1 year, 1 mil contract, Korpisalo from the top goalie UFA on the market to a potential buyout candidate. The FA market is bad for goalies but I mean can they be worse than korpisalo has been? Maybe. And maybe not. But they will definitely be cheaper. Korpisalo buy out plus their contract we probably still save money
Yes I don't know if Tanev would get $6.5 m either and would likely get paid less than that.Trade BOS 1st for Tanev signed 3x5
Keep Chychrun - re-sign next summer at 8 or below.
Dump JBD
Dump Forsberg - bring up Sogaard
I want a deep high end D that can withstand injuries.

Yes, well I remember the plan at this time last year ....What I think will happen is that they will identify a goalie and acquire them. They will pair that goalie with Korpisalo, and hope that Korpisalo can bounce back.
I don't know if you can move Korpisalo at this point without massive sweetenersIt's weird, but I've got a feeling that both Korpi and Forsberg won't be here next season. I also feel a huge trade coming and I'm scared for it.
I’d like to keep chych. But here’s my prediction for the deadline.
1) chych goes to blues. We take on Parayko and his 6.5 for 7 years. We get a 1st, 2nd, prospect (B grade)
2) Tanev is interested in ottawa and comes. Ott gives up 2nd, 3rd, Branny
3) tank is traded to Car/Rang/Vegas/Col for a 1st
4) package of firsts are thrown at a young forward
Well again I think we have to compare what we could have in both scenarios. Also I don’t think you’d want to have both your anchors on D playing together. That pairing would be hella slow. Plus parayako is a semi cap dump for St. Louis so it’s a good moment to snag a guy we can LTIR in the future. Although he has a NMCSanderson Zub
Chabot Parako
Kleven Tanev
+ An extra 1st and a 2nd.
Ok sign me up. I’m in.
How did you get these 2 or 3 extra firsts.Well again I think we have to compare what we could have in both scenarios. Also I don’t think you’d want to have both your anchors on D playing together. That pairing would be hella slow. Plus parayako is a semi cap dump for St. Louis so it’s a good moment to snag a guy we can LTIR in the future. Although he has a NMC
But here’s my two scenarios.
Trade Chych
Norris-Pinto-Batherson
Chucky-Stu-G
Joseph-Greig-young forward (2 1sts)
Kelly-Kasty-AHLer
Sanderson-Parayko
Chabot-Zub
Kleven-Tanev
Net in: 2 firsts (we have 2, 2 additional come in, 2 latest picks traded for a forward with upside and cheap salary). (2nd in and 2nd out for chych and Tanev)
Net out: 3rd, Tank, Chych, Branny.
Keep Chych
Chucky-Norris-Batherson
Joseph-Stu-G
Greig-Pinto-UFA
Kelly-Kasty-AHLer
Sanderson-Zub
Chabot-Chych
Kleven-Tanev
Net in: 3 firsts (2 plus tank)
Net out: 2nd, 3rd, Branny, Tank
Parayko and Chabot become your two anchors for cap.
How does the cap shake down? Well let’s see.
4.5M out for next year
In:
Parayko 6.5M
Tanev approx 3M?
Young forward approx 4.5M
So your cap for next year rises by 9.5M. Without Pinto signed. Cap is tight but team is set. Likely have to move Hammer, JBD, and Kasty but those are all negligible.
It was my original post. How did you get these 2 or 3 extra firsts.
They were shopping him last year and are heavily wanting to move Krug/Faulk/Parayko to open up salary. 30 year old defenceman with 6.5M and a NMC for 7 more years would be someone they’d want to move IMO.Parayko plus 1st and 2nd for Chychrun is not realistic imo. I imagine blues fans/mgmt would push back on that. Parayko is their 1D. Chychrun has a bit better offense, and a much better contract for a year and change, but Parayko is locked in at a decent salary for what he brings, is better defensively and is a leader on that team. Not sure they would consider letting him go let alone add a lot to land Chychrun?
Didn’t know they were shopping him. Would be great to get him. They were shopping him last year and are heavily wanting to move Krug/Faulk/Parayko to open up salary. 30 year old defenceman with 6.5M and a NMC for 7 more years would be someone they’d want to move IMO.
I think goalies know they can cash in on a good year.I kind of wonder if goalies are going to start avoiding signing here until we right the ship, Murray went from multiple time Stanley Cup winner to cap dump requiring retention plus to move, Talbot from all star to having to accept a 1 year, 1 mil contract, Korpisalo from the top goalie UFA on the market to a potential buyout candidate.
Right now, I wouldn't blame goalies for seeing the sens as the team where goalie careers go to die. That's not to absolve these guys of their part in their performance while here, but from an outside perspective not looking closely it's probably in the back of their heads.
Ridtolaijen???????Trade Deadline:
To anyone: Tarasenko, Kubalik & Brannstrom ($9.5 mil out)
To Ott: picks/prospects
Summer Deal:
To Philly: Chabot LD ($8 mil out)
To Ott: Ristolainen RD & Laughton LW ($8.1 mil in)
- Ristolainen fills a top 4 RD spot
- Laughton fills a bottom six LW spot
- Sens likely need to decide between Chabot & Chychrun
Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux $23
Norris - Pinto - Batherson $16
Laughton - Greig - Joseph $7
Kelly - Kastelic - MacEwan $4 = $50
Sanderson - Ristolainen $13
Chychrun - Zub $9
Kleven - JBD/Hamonic $ 3 =$25
Korpisalo - Forsberg $7
($50+$25+$7= $82 mil - includes dead cap)
I don’t think boys are giving you parayko and a first for chychIt was my original post.
1st for chych
1st for Tank
2 1sts already.
Scenario 1 we trade the latest two for a forward
Scenario 2 we don’t trade chych and trade tank and don’t trade for a forward.
