I doubt they will be giving up any assets, I was talking about the summer & siging a UFA just like they signed Tarasenko, that cost them nothing. I don't think there is a need now, it's too little too late, two months ago would have made more sense.
I hope you are correct that Staios will not give up any high draft picks (1st and 2nd round) by the TDL this season to obtain "pros" to fix this roster.

It cost nothing but cap dollars to sign Tarasenko, which created a problem signing Pinto.

I like Tarasenko but I would love a big tough physical RD.

Makes zero sense to pay to dump Korpisalo. Goalies are a crapshoot. One season they're great, the next they're not. Logic would dictate that his great season is coming.

In that scenario, they aren't paying to dump Korpisalo.

They are giving up a 1st+2nd for Karlsson.

Korpisalo is in the trade to offset Karlsson's inflated cap hit. The idea being, Karlsson is worth a 1st+2nd, but he's not worth a 1st+2nd at 3 years 10M per with a NMC.

It's similar to saying, would you give up a 1st+2nd for Karlsson with retained salary, except instead of retaining a few million per season, Pittsburgh takes Korpisalo.

Have you seen Sound of Freedom? If so, how can you consider it to be "stupid right-wing shit".
Gtfo.

Connections to QAnon conspiracy theories

While the film does not mention any QAnon conspiracy theories,[26][63][64][65] critics and anti-trafficking experts have pointed out that the film embellishes the reality of child exploitation and stokes QAnon conspiracy theories,[5] referring to a "belief that a core group of devil-worshiping elite run the world".[66] Both Ballard and star Caviezel have been public about their belief in conspiracy theories of the QAnon movement.[67][68]

Not surprised, considering his body language and frustration during the games. I wonder what we can even get for him.
I don't think he's been here long enough for too much stink to stick to him. He should get us a good return at the TDL in terms of futures going to a contender. If the Sens retain a little , it could grow. I think they should be talking to teams for the TDL and for ahead of the Draft scenarios which would let rebuilding / non contenders into the mix. We should get more for him than we did for DeBrincat but that was Dorion doing the dealing and I get the sense that no one was giving Dorion a deal.

Retain 50% and there will be a bunch of team's interested.

Even if they don't necessarily need another OFD, getting a top 4 defenseman on a 2.3M cap hit for a playoff run + next season is worth paying a lot.

We gave up the 12th OVR pick and two 2nds to rent him for a season. Need to try to replace as much of that value as possible to re-stock the cupboards.

It would be lunacy to retain past this season. Dorionesque move.

Garrioch says Oilers are the best fit for Chychrun.

Ceci would be a good partner for Sanderson. Garrioch doesn't mention him, but I'd be excited to get him back to play a shutdown role. Frees up Zub to play with Chabot.

There almost no final straws for me, but if we ever brought Cody f***ing Ceci back here, (and this includes EDM paying us to do it) that would be the final f***ing straw.

Why? He cried when he got here. What changed?

He wanted to be out of Arizona because they were not competing and he wanted to be part of a competitive team.

Ottawa's arguably the worst team in the NHL, maybe the entire world.

I'm honestly not surprised he wants to GTFO. The only reason we're having this discussion is because he has ties to Ottawa. If he didn't we would already know he's not signing here.

I thought the hate on Ceci was just a meme.

He isn't a bad #3-4 defender, or complimentary guy next to a true top pairing D. He's not the 23 minute a night shutdown guy that Guy Boucher played him as, but there is a reason half a dozen coaches have used him in the role they have.

As a moving piece in a Chychrun package, he wouldn't be a bad fit.
