I think Lafrenniere alone would cost more than Tarasenko and Kubalik.Tarasenko and Kubalik to NYR for Laf and Goodrow.
Tkachuk/Stutzle/Giroux
Laf/Norris/Bath
Grieg/Pinto/Joseph
Kelly/Goodrow/Kastelic
MacEwan
Even with healthy scratching JBD and MacEwan, 690k in space with Anton active and Pinto signed to ELC.

I'd rather get a draft pickKakko would make more sense in this scenario if you take out Goodrow.
He is arbitration eligible and is one of those players in an awkward position where their team may not want to qualify them because they are tight to the cap and don't want to risk a reward that is higher than the player is worth but not high enough to qualify to walk away from.
In a best case scenario, Kakko is probably worth a 2nd. Tarasenko with retention for Kakko. Sens should have the cap flexibility to test drive Kakko for a year.
He's getting a first. He is exactly what a contender wants to push them over the edge. Experienced, heavy player who has won a cup and knows what it takes. Still producing on a bad team and his Contract is expiring.Lafreniere still has a lot of value, so it would depend on how much negative value that you attribute to the contract of Goodrow.
It would be like us trading Pinto or Greig for Tarasenko if we were in the playoff race.
Tarasenko is probably worth a 2nd of we retain or take back cap. I don't think he is worth a 1st, like last year. He is one more year removed from being a superstar than he was last year.
I think Coleman is a buyer beware addition, you're paying a major premium for a big outlier of a season. Good player that plays the way we want, but worst possible time to try and trade for him.I could see us being interested in all of these players at varying degrees in Calgary:
Coleman
Markstrom
Weegar
Andersson
Maybe even Kadri
Calgary has 3 RHD playing in their top 4 and we have 3LHD in our top 4. Both teams are struggling.
Weegar and Coleman
For
Chychrun and Batherson/Norris?

I mean, he got a first last season with nearly identical stats outside of his plus minus (which is actually significantly better).I certainly hope that you're right.

I think pesce will price himself out of us. I think tanev may as well. Some UFA RHD that play top 4 mins (and aren't disasters defensively). Any of these guys of interest to the sens in the offseason? Or, potentially in a deadline deal with an extension in place?
DeMelo 42 gp 1g 13 pts 21:43
Roy 39 gp 2g 11 pts 20:48
Pesce 34 gp 3g 7pts 20:14
Walker 43 gp 4g 14pts 20:07
Tanev 40 gp 1g 8pts 19:16
Myers: 43 gp 3g 18pts 19:08
Hakanpaa 42 gp 2g 8pts 18:58
I agree they are both looooong shots, but, if we move out Tarasenko and say Chychrun, there's a lot of wiggle room in the budget, more if it's Chabot instead of Chych.I think pesce will price himself out of us. I think tanev may as well.

I know we should be past this but .. I am liking the top end of the draft if we can get another first similar to the one we gave up for Chychrun. How much of a reset are we doing.. Having Sanderson, Kleven and Silayev on the left side could be a good way to reset the LD.I agree they are both looooong shots, but, if we move out Tarasenko and say Chychrun, there's a lot of wiggle room in the budget, more if it's Chabot instead of Chych.
It will be interesting to see what Staios will get for Tarasenko given that Tarasenko controls where he can be traded. He's getting a first. If Giroux continues to play as well as he has, he may not make less than he is getting now. Some interesting right hand D available in free agency.
Dumba Roy Walker takes hronek lyubushkin
Trade brannstrom. Trade Kubalik and tank gone. Dead money coming off.
Maybe we can afford the cheapest one.
What we absolutely need is cheap good forwards to round out the roster.
I’m not a cap guy so I dono.
(Not real lines just listing guys)
Tkatchuk Norris giroux
Someone stutzle batherson
Greig Pinto Joseph
Someone someone someone. (All cheap).
Sanderson zub
Chabot lyubushkin
Chychrun JBD.
Which forwards we looking at? Speedy vets. I also don’t know how much that lineup costs. But we have to keep in mind giroux is coming off the books or at least making less after that year.
Greig raise coming tho.
A bunch of these make no sense from the other teams perspective, why are LA or Phi trading away top 4 D when they are hoping to make some noise in the playoffs?Ottawa Senators' 2024 Trade Deadline Targets - The Hockey Writers Latest News, Analysis & More
