I would love to hear what his agent is hearing as they can't be feeling very positively about this process right now. He probably got sold this idea of hand-picking his destination and now he's realizing that's not what's going to happen at all.
He's probably going to his #1 destination in Detroit. Dorion doesn't have much leverage unfortunately.

Ah, ok. Still...is it a stretch to say they could fall to middle of the pack? Which is a good pick.
I would expect there to be some regression from "historically great season" but I guess it really is a matter of how much, isn't it? Injuries could stack up, lack of depth could hurt, aging players could start fading, etc. I'm personally willing to make the bet that they will falter but it's so tough to tell in this league sometimes.

Can't wait to hear how great Zadina is.
Wow, by who lol? His parents?

I assume that the pick will be used as currency almost immediately. You're right though, not a position to wait and see and teams will look at it as a low 1st.

Can’t believe that jets pulled off that LA. Dubois is still the best player but they turned a bad situation into a decent one

Really hoping Dorion takes some notes and does the same with DBC

1000% they will. Maybe makes it less enticing for the Sens since they'll want to use it as trade capital but are basically handing a lottery ticket to someone, right? I have to imagine the condition on the pick is if it's in the top 10 in 2024, then it becomes an unprotected pick in 2025.

How much will Vilardi cost, I wonder. Scored 20 in 63 games and is a big boy.

Interesting long term trade. Vilardi is the only piece that legit stings for LA imo.

Friedman calls it a conspiracy theory, because it’s a conspiracy theory based entirely on that made up rumour that’s been making the rounds everywhere, I would imagine.

Have seen that brought up everywhere, on different platforms, same article. Have had 3 people send it to me on Instagram, from 3 separate rumour pages.

That's the most absurd trade proposal I have ever seen.

While Zadorov would be a good target he is a lefty. The last part really hurts your credibility. Calling Hamonic easy to play against and fake tough but you love the softest players in hockey is something to behold.

yes I'm advocating spending assets and money to get tougher because I love soft hockey players. Makes total sense.

And if you think Hamonic is the kind of tough player any legit playoff team would employ it is you who doesn't understand toughness and you lose credibility.

What does Hamonic do that is so tough and hard to play against? Because he doesn't hit, he's not that good defensively and when he is forechecked he hates contact so he rushes plays and gives easy turnovers to the other team. And when he does try to absorb contact he loses board battles to players even smaller than him.

The toughest play Hamonic made last year was cross check a player onto his own goalie while he was in the splits. Fake tough.

I'm pretty sure Hamonic was 2nd on our team in giveaways, ask yourself what was Hamonic doing that he was second on the the team in giveaways the majority of which came when he was as in his own zone. Soft hockey that's what.

And Zadorov plays both sides pretty sure, and you can just trade Brannstrom to make room for him.

It’s been posted multiple times in this thread and others, I’ll go grab it and edit it it.

Seems to have caught wind in the social media-sphere, Kevin Francis like writing and reasoning.

Yeah I hope our PoHo isn’t focused on bringing on buddies of his to play for the team.

He would be focused on bringing him in because he knows Karlsson is one of the most talented and clutch hockey players on planet earth and because he knows his team will need a RD as well as better 5 on 5 play.

Down the list though I'm sure it helps that Karlsson and Alfredsson are buddies.

The trade is contingent on two factors: the availability of a certain undisclosed prospect for the Ottawa Senators to pick at 17
This looks really suspect.

You clearly only watch the games on t.v and only see what you want to see. If you think Hamonic isnt a physical player. You also hate Brady Tkachuk. You clearly arent an authority on physical play or the impact it has on hockey games. Hamonic always breaks up the cycle which you have to go to games to watch. Or maybe you arent capable of identifying it, he blocks lots of shots and he finishes all his checks. I am not saying he is a world beater he is a bottom pair d man but to say he isnt physical is hysterical.

Only those with minimal hockey knowledge only associate “hits” as being physical in hockey. So many more components to it

Wow so much wrong with this, maybe check before you post.

Lol doesn’t hit, Second in hits,(D) second in blocked shots(team)
Second in giveaways ( got one right, blind squirrel always finds a nut)
Third in takeaways for the defense
Fake tough lol.

Those are numbers you expect from a stay at home D and a penalty killer. He would be fine in a 6/7 role.
Was a good complement for Sandy in his first year pro.
You should try some live viewing.

Zadorov would be too expensive on the third pair.

I mean with what just happened with Dubois to L.A and him saying he wanted to go home to Montreal had to have helped the sens from a leverage stand point.

Secondly Debrincat wont want to come back to Ottawa if he has no intention of signing. He will be able to kiss his first PP spot goodbye. Thats for sure, he wont get the opportunities or looks that he likely would have so its going to effect his contract status. So back to back years of poor production going into being a UFA. When you are a one dimensional small winger this could cost him 10's of millions.

Because of these two factors I do believe a deal gets done today to either Detroit, Nashville, Seattle or Carolina.

I actually think it's gonna be Nashville. They have the draft capital and the cap space. He actually wants to go there. Big splash by Tortz etc. Still have room to sign a centerman too.
If PD was good at his job, which he is not, he would throw out a 2 year 8M offer to Debrincat.

Tell Jackson and Debrincat that the market is low right now and they can't get a reasonable deal. Have Andlauer guarantee that Debrincat will only be traded to his limited list after signing. This let's Debrincat have a better year and helps make a deal next year when there will be cap room for teams finally. Allows Debrincat to make 16M and then get an 8 year deal when the cap is at around 92M.
