You come here as President and actually GM and your working on a high cost RD who had one good year in 5 and will tie up 8 million in cap space while you have Letang and Petry on a 2 year term that fits the time frame for the Pens playoff drive. It’s weird how “getting younger” means actually adding age on Archibald and Zucker and then moving Petry for a 33 year old.
EK would instantly improv our transition and pp. Two facets of our game that were sorely lacking last year. You live with the poor defensive play because those two benefits should outweight that. These are the type of big swings you have to make to have any chance in the last gasp of the Crosby Malkin era. If it doesn't work out, oh well. At least you tried rather than just tread water being mediocre.

The stupidity comes with the expectation that Dubas or anybody else could undo half a decade of JR and Hextall's moves in one off season, or that this team is anywhere near a contender anymore. /shrug
Karlsson ain't fixing shit, but he'll be fun, and this team's been playing boring, slopshit hockey for years. Winning ain't in the cards, so make it fun to watch--that's all I care about.
