Our assets are far better spent on upgrading the third line and dumping Granlund than acquiring Karlsson.
Yeah. It'd be cool to not have $15 million tied up in Carter, JJ's buyout, Granlund, and Petry. Whoops! The biggest impediment to getting Karlsson is freeing up enough cap on our end. The second is convincing him he’d rather spend the rest of his contract on struggling older wildcard team instead of a younger team that has been on the upswing.
A third of this board seem to have turned into SSRI zombies. Prayers up.Literally every single major hockey insider has said the Penguins are in on Karlsson. Hell, Dubas basically confirmed it himself when Rossi asked him about it.
Doesn’t it get tiring to just be constantly negative all of the time? Who knows if they pull it off, but telling people to not talk about it because your depressed negative ass wants to continue a schtick just makes the conversations on this website even worse.
I mean I would probably do it but I guarantee it won't take 2 good futures to get Karlsson. He simply has two teams who he wants to go to and who want him.No don't trade our trash prospects and farm system for EK!! Lol.
If we got EK chances are Granlund would be part of it.Our assets are far better spent on upgrading the third line and dumping Granlund than acquiring Karlsson.
Probably but imagine a PP of Crosby, Letang, Malkin, Karlsson, Jake! Our assets are far better spent on upgrading the third line and dumping Granlund than acquiring Karlsson.
There’s probably no other way to free up enough cap to make it actually feasible. If we got EK chances are Granlund would be part of it.
Or Petry+De SmithIf you acquire Karlsson you have to dump Granlund to make the cap work.
Hope we can get an answer in the next 2 days. Dont see how the Canes do this with all the D they have acquired (Orlov) or are gonna acquire (Tony D)
Exactly, that would kill two birds with one stone. A lot more to it, but yeah. There’s probably no other way to free up enough cap to make it actually feasible.

Wouldn't dumping Rutta and then trading a better contract in Petry work? Because Granlund is such a negative it might cost us more in prospects, picks. There’s probably no other way to free up enough cap to make it actually feasible.

Yeah, I don’t see what we offer that they don’t unless EK has strong opinions on how Carolina BBQ is inferior to Memphis.I’m sure EK would prefer to go to the Canes as well

Dump them all. Who cares if we lose one of our mediocre to bad projects?Wouldn't dumping Rutta and then trading a better contract in Petry work? Because Granlund is such a negative it might cost us more in prospects, picks.
Agreed. Just that I think Petry is less of a cap dump than Granlund.Dump them all. Who cares if we lose one of our mediocre to bad projects?
Imagine if our 2nd pairing was Matheson and Marino. That would instill optimism
Petry you can move more easily but I don’t think we’d have to pay that much to dump Granlund. Should have just bought him out if we were serious about this though.Agreed. Just that I think Petry is less of a cap dump than Granlund.
