It’s a good possibility we won’t. But we could also get lucky or people can get fired and lightening can strike twice.
Only way I see it is Ned becoming our starter.

What Leverage does the Sharks have?Does Ty Smith have any value what so ever? If the Pens don't want ya as a prospec...
POJ is a guy who's solid but undervalued around the NHL.
trade him to someone elseWhat Leverage does the Sharks have?
It could mean that the Pens are his first choice. If Carolina has an offer that Grier liked, he probably would have done it.Again EK has FULL NMC, that limits what SJ can do.
They can just keep him? The market is pretty bad right now. Waiting a year won't hurt. What Leverage does the Sharks have?
I don't know where I heard it, or even if it's true, but yes I heard we're EK's 1st choice. It could mean that the Pens are his first choice. If Carolina has an offer that Grier liked, he probably would have done it.
JJ's buyout, Granlund, Carter, and Hextall's big blueline shuffle that accomplished nothing (Petry at $6.2 million) is a whole lotta wasted cap on oopsies. That Carter contract and JJ’s buyout continue to pay dividends.
Sure they can keep him, but if they do move him their hands are largely tied. They can just keep him? The market is pretty bad right now. Waiting a year won't hurt.
You can easily send cap to SJS in any trade, honestly. So much useless cap that they would not mind taking.Guys EK65 ain't coming here. We capped out. Let it go.

We can talk about things that have happened already.Guys EK65 ain't coming here. We capped out. Let it go.
Except he has a NMC. What if he doesn't want to go to that team?trade him to someone else
That is a horrible deal for us. Why would we trade our #1 prospect & a first for an aging defensemen? Especially considering we are no where near competing for a Cup.I feel like a Karlsson deal would look something like this:
-Penguins get Karlsson at $8.5 million
-Sharks get Petry, Granlund, Pickering and a 2024 1st while retaining $2 million on Karlsson
-Team C gets a 2025 2nd from the Penguins while retaining $1 million on Karlsson.
Yeah, not buying out Granlund makes me very skeptical we’re seriously entertaining a trade for EK.Guys EK65 ain't coming here. We capped out. Let it go.
Obviously you break his legs.Except he has a NMC. What if he doesn't want to go to that team?
So, for EK, you just glance at his foot?Obviously you break his legs.

So how bout that Jarry extension?
Just call up Matt Cooke. So, for EK, you just glance at his foot?

That is trueExcept he has a NMC. What if he doesn't want to go to that team?
It could hurt a whole bunch since Karlsson could get injured next year and since he doesn’t want to be there his performance could tankThey can just keep him? The market is pretty bad right now. Waiting a year won't hurt.
Thus it limits SJ ability to extract value. That is true
