EK65 watch. Cos it has turned out so well before.

Why would EK65 accept a trade here? San Jose is probably closer to being competitive.
Not sure about that but to play behind Sid and Geno wouldn't be the worst thing.

I would not be surprised in the least to see CBJ finish above us next year.
Heck, even Alex Texier would be our best bottom 6 player. They're deep.

And they're adding Provy, Werenski and Jirieck.

Have speed and youth for days up front. Which is why they are a low key dangerous team, young speedy depth goes a long way. (Seattle)

Not in terms of making the team any more of a Cup contender, but Karlsson would sure as shit be an injection of entertaining hockey that we haven't seen since Kessel.

As a person who only gives a shit about how watchable the product is as Sid's career winds down--I'm all on board. Gimme EK65.
Maybe if we add Karlsson Crosby finally hits 100 points.

It would be funny for Dubas to say all of that nice stuff about Petry only to immediately trade him for Karlsson

But yeah, it would at minimum require the Penguins to send Petry and Carter out while getting about $2 million in salary retention on Karlsson. That would have the swap be effectively cap neutral. I think you realistically need to ship out Petry and Granlund, possibly even Carter as well, and get about $3 million (or more) in retention on Karlsson to make it work.

So yeah, it's not an easy task to complete. I'd give Dubas massive credit if he can somehow find the way to make that cap work, I figured the Graves signing took the Penguins out of that entirely.
Assuming a 1st round pick and some prospects would have to be included in this lol

2024 1st round
Owen Pickering
Sam Poulin
Ty Smith
POJ

just to name some pieces that would have to swing teams to help us

SJ doesn't want to pay on EK's contract for four more years, Here that won't matter as much. With EK's NMC it limits the ask SJ can obtain.

Alex Texier, the guy who played in the Swiss A league last year, is definitely a better bottom-6 player than anyone on the Penguins.

Lol some of the takes on this website are absolutely bonkers. The team has either stayed the same or gotten better in every way, but they're somehow going to pick in the top-10 next year? Adorable.

I think this is about the best way to look at an EK acquisition. It would improve the entertainment value if not so much the contender value.
