If you’re gonna be old, be Detroit old and stack your team with Hall of Famers
Not sure about that but to play behind Sid and Geno wouldn't be the worst thing.EK65 watch. Cos it has turned out so well before.
Why would EK65 accept a trade here? San Jose is probably closer to being competitive.
Heck, even Alex Texier would be our best bottom 6 player. They're deep.I would not be surprised in the least to see CBJ finish above us next year.
Laine has been basically equal to Malkin's production over the past two years.
Same with Gaudreau and Crosby. Two washes.
Maybe if we add Karlsson Crosby finally hits 100 points. Not in terms of making the team any more of a Cup contender, but Karlsson would sure as shit be an injection of entertaining hockey that we haven't seen since Kessel.
As a person who only gives a shit about how watchable the product is as Sid's career winds down--I'm all on board. Gimme EK65.
Assuming a 1st round pick and some prospects would have to be included in this lolIt would be funny for Dubas to say all of that nice stuff about Petry only to immediately trade him for Karlsson
But yeah, it would at minimum require the Penguins to send Petry and Carter out while getting about $2 million in salary retention on Karlsson. That would have the swap be effectively cap neutral. I think you realistically need to ship out Petry and Granlund, possibly even Carter as well, and get about $3 million (or more) in retention on Karlsson to make it work.
So yeah, it's not an easy task to complete. I'd give Dubas massive credit if he can somehow find the way to make that cap work, I figured the Graves signing took the Penguins out of that entirely.
Like?If you’re gonna be old, be Detroit old and stack your team with Hall of Famers
Heck, even Alex Texier would be our best bottom 6 player. They're deep.
And they're adding Provy, Werenski and Jirieck.
Have speed and youth for days up front. Which is why they are a low key dangerous team, young speedy depth goes a long way. (Seattle)
It's kind of funny how JR and Hextall KOed the Pens. JR gutted the team of young players/picks and Hextall killed any cap flexibility. JR and Hextall would make for a great duoThat Carter contract and JJ’s buyout continue to pay dividends.
I mean I'm no CBJ expert, but I bet could make a better looking 12 forward lines with their roster.I think we get a top ten pick next year after these moves.
Yager tooAssuming a 1st round pick and some prospects would have to be included in this lol
2024 1st round
Owen Pickering
Sam Poulin
Ty Smith
POJ
just to name some pieces that would have to swing teams to help us
I'd add a prospect or twoPetry+DeSmith+1st - San Jose says what?
Why are trading 1st round picks when the Sharks have very little leverage? That's just stupid!Petry+DeSmith+1st - San Jose says what?
Crosby, Malkin and Karlsson are first ballot. Letang close but doesn’t have individual hardwareLike?
Also, what’s the country western scene in Pitt like?I hope everyone is aware Duchene signed 3M in a tax-free state, signing in Pitt would be a much more expensive contract
I think this is about the best way to look at an EK acquisition. It would improve the entertainment value if not so much the contender value. Not in terms of making the team any more of a Cup contender, but Karlsson would sure as shit be an injection of entertaining hockey that we haven't seen since Kessel.

Add me to that list, i'll take living in a warm city for a couple years.I'd add a prospect or two
I think we get into the playoffs as the 8th seed, lose in 6 games but really we were only competitive in 3 of them.I think we get a top ten pick next year after these moves.
Why? he has a NMC? That's terrible asset management.I'd add a prospect or two
