By what authority can you claim he’s a 3C on a cup team?it’s just a narrative you want to push

by my opinion, backed by the fact no team he has ever been on as a 2c has had relative playoff success. (not all his fault, but he is certainly a part of it as a top 6 player).

yeah that isnt happening. why with any ounce of common sense would a 29 year old trocheck take a 3 year deal? he is going to want 5 or 6 unless he thinks he can rack up huge points with panarin and then walk again when the cap jumps back up. that would be a bold risk for a player with his career earnings to this point

to that point I dont think most people understand just how bad the flyers defense has been the past number of years since av got there. it was unbelievably bad. jones gets crushed bc he couldnt hack it as a started in sj, but i think in the right role he could be the backup here but it has to he for 1.5m or less

Didn't see a single thing from Copp that would give me confidence that he can be a true #2 center. His skill set is much more conducive to playing on the wing. I see him, as I see Goodrow, as a swiss army knife kind of player, you can play him anywhere as needed, even at #2 center for a short stretch. But not full time. Good player, would love to have him back, but I just cannot see him as a #2 center.

Trocheck is intriguing. If we're not going to give Chytil a shot at #2 center, my preference, than, if we can get him for a decent cap hit and decent term, than I am OK with signing him, if that is the choice.

Got it. For some reason I remember reading on these boards rangers were in it until the end, but can’t recall if it was a reliable source or not.

I liked Martin Jones for a while. He's been horrible, yes. But when he was with the Sharks he was very good and its possible Benoit noticed he fell out of form. He has a good skill set, good glove hand. If he can work with him and get him to be a sub 3.00 GAA and .900+ goalie again, thats all the Rangers need

I think they will explore a prospect for prospect deal to get a forward. @RangerBoy and others have mentioned Dallas and their glut of center prospects.

oh man. They are really going cheap on the goalie market. It was a pipe dream to think Samsonov would come here for a million bucks. Because of the Nemeth contract we can't afford to pay a goalie more than 1 million.

Gaudreau sounding likely for NJ. Good add for them, but that's gotta be the tiniest forward line in Hockey. When was the last time a team that small won a cup? They would get dismembered by some of the top teams...
