Once the fan base realized Strome wasn’t good enough to be this team’s 2C, he was Done here . He deserved some of the criticism, but he should be remembered as a very good Ranger. He was about to be out of hockey when he got here for that pigeon Spooner, now he’s got $25 mill in the bank. Good guy and he will look better all around away from his buddy Panarin. My only worry is he is damaged goods after forgoing this hip surgery

All in all, it's a relief that Drury sees the game in a similar fashion to the rest of us. They let go all the guys that had to be let go, some easier, others harder, and whether it's at the deadline, Copp for versatility in the top 6, Frankie for a shooter, or Trocheck as an anti-Strome center, he's checked a lot of the right boxes. One big hurdle on how well he navigates Jones/Lundkvist/Robertson but so far so good. Can't complain about Diamond Hands Drury.

Drury has had intimate knowledge of the organization since 2007. He has shown he knows what buttons to push
