Very good structure here on this deal that makes it very movable in years 4-7.
At least it's a limited NTC. Good. Because we have been handing out NMCs like crazy. No need to tie our hands. Players should beg to come to New York, and we shouldn't be begging them to sign by giving them insurance of not moving on if their quality of play drops.

How many wins and what’s the save % for the extra $250K?

Wasn’t this deal $1.55M? Maybe it’s $1.5M.

Capfriendly literally just updated his numbers to $1.5M, though they have it as a $250k signing bonus and not a performance bonus.

EDIT: Now they added $50k in performance bonuses, just generically stating wins and SV%.

I guess Lou did fall asleep on the ferry to Japan and is now trying to eat seaweed soup with one chopstick because he dropped the other one on the floor and needs to bed down at a pull-out drawer somewhere while trying to navigate around using Google Translate. @Tob

Listen I’m not super high on the Trochek signing either but let’s be real, we lost Copp, Strome, Motte, Vatrano, and replaced them with Trochek, Kravtsov, Blais and Rydahl. At least be fair in the counting.

As I remember, in a plus 35 contract 1 year, teams are allowed to offer performance bonuses.

Halak has "Wins Bonus; Save Percentage Bonus" for 250K.

The NMC is likely just so they can not trade him if someone's goalie gets injured and they wanted to overpay in trade for him.

sources tell me he settled on a hello kitty shaped rice ball after his attempts to secure the services of an attendant fell through.

35 plus players. Entry level players. A player who has played 400 NHL games and spent 100 days on the IR is eligible for performance bonuses.

Incredibly bad. Drury spent 7 mil on Trocheck (7 years) and Halak while giving away a 2nd round pick to get rid of the previous awful contract he handed out last summer.

Strome, Copp, Vatrano, Motte all out and only Trocheck and his awful contract in.

Meanwhile our division rivals are actually improving their teams.

Within the span of several months Drury gave up a 1st, a handful of 2nds and we have what to show for it?
Was it bad to make it to the ECF, 2 wins short of the SCF? after 5 years of the rebuild?

Copp is a season removed from 2 concussions and was injured coming into the playoffs.
He's a good player, but the NYR should reward his first break out season?
Must be a reason why they never used him at Center.

Vatrano, is a pretty one-dimensional player. Dont we have Kravstov, Othmann, Cuylle coming up/in?
He was signed because Blias was out/hurt, same thing with Motte.

You're complaining over Nemeth leaving? they did pick up a 6/7th d man.

Strome**, Mckegg, Rooney, Geo, Nemeth out.

I like big FA signings as much as anyone... when they make sense. Kadri makes sense?
Paying a ransom to jackass Vancouver for Miller makes sense?

Trocheck and Halak are 2 sensible moves. It's time to really see what Chytil, KK, and the plethora of prospects really have... what do you want?

Our divisional rivals improved marginally at best.
