It's actually not a 35+ contract. To qualify as a 35+ contract, the player has to be 35 as of July 1st of the first year of the contract, and the contract has to be at least 2 years in length and front loaded.its a one year deal that is also a 35+ contract. Relax.
If Halak received a performance bonus, that much have been within the plus 35 contract rules though, right? It's actually not a 35+ contract. VGK is operating like a casino, money in, no money out.I cannot get over this paccioretty deal. How on earth did that happen?
I learn something new every day. It's actually not a 35+ contract. To qualify as a 35+ contract, the player has to be 35 as of July 1st of the first year of the contract, and the contract has to be at least 2 years in length and front loaded.
They can’t win the lottery again next year. Also the Capitals looked at both their goalies this year and said nope. VV isn’t even an upgrade for them. Are the Devils just gonna tank again next season? I mean their main acquisition is Vitek Vanacek.
It's a different rule. Players who are 35+ on a 1 year contract can have performance bonuses. IIRC, we gave Shanahan performance bonuses on consecutive 1 year deals. They were not 35+ contracts though. To qualify as a 35+ contract, the contract must be at least 2 years in length, like the contract we gave to Brashear. And if the contract is more than 1 year, performance bonuses can't be included. If Halak received a performance bonus, that much have been within the plus 35 contract rules though, right?
Would be hilarious if he wound up in VegasLanding spot for Kadri?
And how is that ok in this horseshit league.I cannot get over this paccioretty deal. How on earth did that happen?
Even after giving their top LW away for free, they still have no space for a deal like that.Would be hilarious if he wound up in Vegas
If you want to move Nils, this could be a worthwhile piece to add. I'd even send him to the AHL to begin the season. 18 points in 60 games. Waiver eligible. Still 21. Would be cheap forward depth.
This is a no-brainer...Nils for Nils. Get on the horn Drury.
