I think this is a pretty fair assessment, but I also just plain do not like or think the brand of hockey we have now quintuppled down on is at all appealing to watch, or likely to be successful. If someone told me that they had failed miserably 8 times and that the 9th time is going to be the one that gets it right with only minor changes, I would not give them the opportunity.

Orpik was the only one that came to mind. Near the end he sucked but being a "tough" player, he could have returned good value

Pinto, Krebs, Drury, Dorofeyev, and Robertson all coming to mind.

We could easily take Pinto, Drury, Doro, or Robertson in addition to a bottom pairing or 4th liner to help the respective team make room while sending back another young piece that's low cost like Bemstrom.

I don't understand why people think this suddenly isn't a thing. I mean... that's a big reason I don't want Sullivan around as a developmental coach in the coming years.
