With all respect... this sentiment is being misstated all over the place. The rebuild is NOT over... plenty of lesser talents to replace yet with younger stronger talents at the NHL level, and no way all these prospects we are all drooling over meet expectations. THAT said... the rebuild process as of today has absolutely crested. Another 2-3 years ahead of tweaking, adding by subtracting, etc., and moving a piece or two for futures. Easy, fellas. MAYBE playoffs this year, real contention further out.

I mostly agree. Just saying that we are now a team on the rise. We will not be looking at a top 6 pick next June.

Good offseason for Edmonton so far.

They’ve bought out one of their better defenseman, drafted a defenseman who is 3-4 years out, and added _____.

Looking for big improvments out of them next year.

I am still bitter we didn't get Zegras because of them. We should send them kreider for their 1st.

What we can hope for now is that the teams that missed out on scoring wingers are now willing to pay more for Kreider. Very legitimate possibility.

We have all mentioned this before but Gorton with a season of:

Trade:
Hayes
Zuccarello
Kreider
Pionk
Vesey

Sign/Trade
Lemieux
Trouba
Panarin
Picks/Prospects

The idea of trading players for picks/prospects and then replenishing those spots via UFA is a method this organization has taken a few times.

Im assuming it's only a matter of time before one of these actually happens.

A few days ago, $11 million was too much. Now $11.6 million is a bargain. Ridiculous.
Opinions can and should change in the face of new information. For example, a few years ago, the Oilers were awesome. Then they traded Gretzky. Then they weren't so awesome anymore. See?

I never bought into Panarin absolutely breaking down or holding up because of age/NHL tenure, but where is this time machine he used to have the body of a 24 year old because he only played 4 NHL seasons? Did he take a 4 year sabbatical? I get that he hasnt had NHL bodies checking him but that's not the only wear and tear. Strange argument.

One has been an iron man. The other, a tin man.
