Bedard was so clutch for team Canada as a junior, wouldn’t shock me if he popped off in these games. Cant skip him for the Olympics either, hes a big part of team Canada for the next while so I wanna see him included.

No just Bedard, but Celebrini as well. He's looked really good to me.

Not hockey but...A freaking plane flipped over at Pearson in toronto. Haven't heard if any casualties.

Yep, 2010, 2014, and 2016 showed that not only can (at the time) superstars like Thornton, Duchene, and Tavares play bottom-6 roles, they can excel at defense when they are asked to focus on it. They also have the ability to chip in key goals in tight games.

Up 4-0 they were just coasting, I see them playing 60 on Thursday. They're going to want that one more than ever now.

Yah. It just comes down to that. They let the foot of the gas the last 10 minutes, gave Finland life and let them play in ozone. They didn’t break up enough plays or get the puck out when it was 6 on 5. It was just a matter of time before Finland scored at that point. You can’t do that. You can’t let teams get life at the end of the game like that. Chances are Finland still scores those 3 goalies with any goalie in net. Finland pressed and Canada sat back. Was it a coaching decision to turtle? Or were the players gassed or just lacked chemistry we don’t know. But it needs to be cleaned up.

Thinking about a potential Olympics team now.

So we can probably agree Crosby is likely 3rd line, maybe 2nd line wing. But imagine Crosby and Bedard playing together on a third line.. I don’t think Bedard would be ready to play with McDavid aside from the PP, but it would be so fun to see him paired up with Sid. Master and apprentice.

Skill and speed probably wins in the Olympics over the size and toughness that some of us wanted for this 4 Nations roster.

I just really wanna see Crosby, McDavid/Mack, Bedard win gold together, bridging the generations and marking a comeback for team Canada.

In the Olympics, I wonder about Crosby. He made the massive play at the end, and has shown flashes, but has also looked his age at times. I wonder if he's the 13th forward for that team.

Crosby is still one of our best all-around players and I dont imagine that changes by next year. MacKinnon brings a lot of flash and juice but not quite the same overall/2-way excellence.. and it just doesn’t feel like we’re seeing peak McDavid right now but still I think you’d clearly prefer Crosby to him in a d-zone faceoff. You need some strong 2-way guys (as in star players who are 2-way competent, not grinders who you look to elevate). I think the D and G will be better for the Olympics automatically, but the forward group could use a tweak or two IMO. We haven’t found elite high-octane units for even strength dominance as of yet.

I think the team would look a lot better with scheifele. That’s an omission I’ll never understand but the only D pick I don’t like is doughty. Also Tom Wilson in Bennetts spot would be nice.
